I simply think MvdP is gonna cooperate with Pogacar regardless. The matchup between them always comes down to "If Van der Poel can follow he wins, if he can't Pog wins". I think it's more likely he can follow than to win in a tactical race where they are looking at each other.

One of my favourite races of the year, hope that it doesn't disapoint.

For me it will truly be a battle between Van der Poel and Pogačar which means whether the latter can drop the former. I still think he will based on happened two years ago and the crazy year that he had last year but there is also a chance that Van der Poel hangs on because he seems to be in the shape of his life.

Visma and Trek, they have strong teams but not the two favourites so they will need to anticipate and I am also curious to see how Ganna does even though on paper this race suits him less than Sanremo or Roubaix. Van Eetvelt's debut will also be interesting to follow.

Fiorenzo Magni, winner of the year 1050, apparently.

It's a very old and important race, and since we have probably entered post-temporality as well as post-truth and post-facts I think there is a strong case, that this information is correct.

Edit: apparently he also won in 1051! Maybe we have to alter our expectations of what could go wrong, medieval marauders might enter the race from a time portal that opens after vdP and Pogi have gone thermonuclear.

3rd or 11th doesn't matter to Pog. That's why he always blows himself up completely and finishes 11th. He's not the kinda guy who eventually realises he can't drop guys like Mvdp and Vingo in their prime and catches his breath for the sprint. Pog will not pass the Dutchie on the left hand side today.

I'm the only one to think Koppenberg would be a better place to attack for Pogacar?
Koppenberg is just all out for 1.45-1:50. If he is stronger, he gets a gap, then is the question how big that will be and if he fears a strong chase could be formed right away (for example MVDP and Wout). Think it's hard for Pog to get more than 7-8 seconds on such a short climb.

But like Paterberg, stronger riders open a bigger gap right after Koppenberg.
