Public Notice to MVDP: don't get caught behind in a split, under no circumstances are you to attack the Pog, let him tow you and bury him in the sprint.
I'm hoping a breakaway forms and the Pog and the MVP look at each other till it's too late. (This is unlikely but would be the most interesting outcome.)
I think it might be more likely than expected. Every teams DS will be telling their team to get ahead of the race before the fireworks otherwise it’s game over. That Pedersen group was really strong in 2023 and it made the favourites work hard for their win.

The forecasts have become more stable. In late afternoon ENE wind of 20-25 kph is expected, which means headwind on Koppenberg, cross wind on Kwaremont and Paterberg, tailwind on Kruisberg and headwind in the final few km.
Not even that much, KMI is saying 12km/h now

Cross wind on Kwaremont and headwind eastwards to Oudenaarde finish line.
I just changed my vote from MvDP to Pogi.

The lowest values across the models I checked are in 15-20 kph range so 15-25 kph is a very likely interval.

I didn't know crosswinds were that good to attack (maybe if one sticks to the proper side of the road).

More headwind on Paterberg than on Koppenberg if the wind direction is the same.

Wind of 20 kph is relevant but I like to see a possible crosswind on Kwaremont, it is even better for Pogacar. No one can hides from the wind.
