Last year, before RvV, the take that MvdP had a fair shot at Flanders wasn't a crazy one at all, given that A) he won E3 convincingly and B) his worst result in this race is fourth (an edition where he crashed heavily and came back chasing all alone).
For this RvV, nobody sees him as the big favourite, but ruling out Van der Poel at a race that fits him like his skin would be equally foolish.
