Only the pro’s could do the Koppenberg today. A garbage truck made it too muddy/slippery. Saw a video of all the teams struggling and walking. Remco and a teammate went to the top. If it’s still wet during the race, the stronger riders better be in a small group already. First positions are key there.

Summary of the wet ride: it’s still hard. Insane how the riders will fly on Sunday.

CX is tiny groups also, so if one rider has to run up it everyone else can get round. The chain reaction of one person stepping off will probably have the biggest impact here if they're wet.
I think that’s the biggest difference-/in cross you don’t get a reduced peloton of 30-50 riders bunched together entering the climb. Even guys with the best technique (there a classic video of MVdP riding in this fashion) slide from side to side on wet cobbles, causing other riders behind to slow turn aside too much. Inevitably some rider puts a foot down and the entire bunch is stopped behind. Of course, this puts even more pressure for teams to be at the front entering the climb.

What exactly do you mean? Video?
He went down the Koppenberg and made the sides fall down and with the rain that became mud. Other cars also had problems going down because of how slippery it suddenly went. So only pro riders could try while they were working on it. Most of them had to stop and walk further.
The cleaned all the cobbles yesterday, and had to do it again today. They said the fire department was in charge of this.

Jenno Berckmoes had the fastest time today on the Oude Kwaremont. Good to see after his early crash and DNF on Tuesday.

Thank you for that hot tip. I have now put everything I own on "another guy" in the poll. People are clearly too obsessed with another Belgian who's crashed recently to see who the real favourite is.

Times means nothing. Was just about his crash. I thought after his early exit this would be it for the classics. Surprised to see his name. (Was checking how much faster the pro’s were than me, spoiler alert: almost 2x).

He was 22” faster than Remco. Clearly 5 stars on Sunday.

He also got the KOM on Taaien just before E3 and then was only like 30th strongest on the hills in the race itself haha.

But he says he felt great on recon today, better than expected. Elbow hurts, but it's doable. "Form can't be gone, still 2 days to recover".

Also for the Legoland people here: Søren Kragh Andersen stayed on his bike on the Koppenberg. Would love to see him get a strong result again.

Sagan jokingly said Pogi will attack with 120 km to go ... who knows, he might be right!
If Pogi stays upright, he'll win. (and the fastest ever edition of the race)

Would be nice to get this confirmed by somebody living near by, but apparently once Pogi attacks he'll be blown to the finish.

When they made the podcast it was also not going to rain, the weather forecast they are discussing is a bit outdated. We can now expect 25km/h of wind, 4bft. It will be coming from the front/side on Oude Kwaremont, so harder to get away, but still in the back when riding to the finish
