Perhaps, but that doesn't mean he should play this differently.
i dont see why he shouldn't sit on the wheel and tell Pog to work, who cares if Remco comes back. WHy would you work with an alien robot who has shown nothing but imperious strength the last 3 years

MVDP doing well, making sure Remco does not come back by pulling every now and then, but making Pogacar do most of the work.
I would do even less if i'm MVPD but okay.
Interesting . . . I would think that MDVP could benefit from Remco staying in contact to help chase back Pogacar after the Kwaremont? Gap is too big now though.

Why do they keep repaving their "legendary" cobbled streets in Flanders!?
Unfortunately, unlike the Roubaix ones which are mostly farm tracks used only occasionally by agricultural machinery and cyclotourists, a lot of de Ronde's cobbled roads are in regular use by general traffic, and though the history and tradition of the race is significant, if they let them get into a state of disrepair there will be complaints from locals who need to use these roads to commute, and so while it does mean that the difficulty of the climbs can be reduced every so often, regular repaving of the cobbles is preferable to seeing these icons go the way of the Alsemberg, and ending up on two-lane tarmac which ruined Paris-Bruxelles and turned it into a sprinter's race.
