I had Kristoff @30, but he can't ride without a team... GvA will never win this race, he had to follow Bettiol

One of those occasions where the group is just too big and no one trusts anyone else. There were certainly some that didn't want anything to do with the wind hitting their face.

Why are riders in the chasing group getting to second wheel and then just sitting up? Even just taking a token turn to come through keeps up the momentum.
never underestimate the collective pro-cyclists' stupidity

As Bettiol rode off with the victory. But, then again, you don't want to be the guy who pulls a group of finishers to the line and missed the podium. At least that's the mentality, I think

Pathetic finish to what was otherwise a fantastic race. Sick of watching cowards refuse to ride because they would prefer to be towed to a chance for second place. Half those chumps could have beaten Bettiol in a sprint.

This was van der Poel’s for the taking. Unbelievable ride considering what he went through. Maybe the strongest rider today.

Great win by Bettiol. Asgreen and MVdP also very impresive. DQS was not looking very convincing at all. Stybar should be better next week but his blow out was surprising. Sagan did not have the legs to even sprint. I hope he will be better next week.

Insane to me, that someone could think Asgreen does not "deserve" 2nd.

I simply don't get the reasoning.

It's his debut in the race - it's his first full season on the world tour.

Last year, everyone was shocked that a debutante (Mads P) could take second, and called it the best debut in recent history.

GvA is just too honest for his own good. Spends way too much time at the front.

Nicely done interview by Bettiol, considering it's his first pro win. More pink in front!
