I am going to bet that next year's cross season will not see major participation by Wout or MVDP.
They obviously still live racing cross but it would surely be better for their prospects of being on super peak form to just do 2/3 races as part of interval training and keeping them motivated than racing half a season that does nothing to further enhance their palmares.

Fabulous from Pogi. 3rd dual TDF/RVV winner in history and the only rider alongside Merckx to win 3 different monuments before 25.

I really doubt he will ride it but I would make him favourite if he rode Roubaix next Sunday. Best in the world with the greatest range and such power.

Trentin had probably his best ride since joining UAE and the big 3 group caught him at a great time for Trentin to still be of use launching hard on the bottom section of the final ascent of Kwaremont.

Has there been someone who won RVV and Tour in the same year?

WVA and VDP were both a long way back even before Pog started his attack on the Oude Kwaremont. WVA was never getting there anyway, VDP might've had a chance if he hadn't used up his team and then had to surge after that slight mechanical. That's a big if though, Pog is unstoppable.

Van der Poel: I think I rode my best Flanders ever. After the Paterberg I have not been below 400 watt and I did not come closer. So a deserved second place.

I think both Pogi and Mathieu went really really deep this time. VDP did really good chase there. Pogi was so knackered, well they both were..

I think Evenepoel could do about same as Pogi in the near future, about same scenario. He can hit good but no sprint like VDP or Pedersen.

Now what about Vingo, could he handle cobbles, when is that day coming?

Vingegaard would be slaughtered, he's relatively bad at even the most mountanious monuments. Theres a reason he basically gave up on the classics. No chance.

I doubt Remco can ever do what Pogacar did today as well.

Vingegaard should be able to do decently in Lombardia if it were the week before the Tour. But then he's on Jumbo and Jumbo riders always underperform monuments. Even Roglic somehow bottles Liege and Lombardia despite flying the week before.

Evenepoel I really have no clue how he'd do in De Ronde. I don't think he flies away on the hills but I can see him staying away if he gets a gap somewhere else.

First, nobody can do what Pogacar did today... especially his output sitting down on sharp climbs is remarkable.

Secondly, not sure you are right on Vingegaard.

He's fine in the fight for position, he didn't have any real problem on the cobbled sectors of the Tour (the problems occurred on tarmac), he's explosive enough on short climbs (though not quite Pogacar's level), and is clearly strong enough... but Jumbo has not yet cracked the code of him performing in 1-day races.

They say they are working towards it though, so I wouldn't write him off quite yet, as all the pieces of the puzzle seem to be there.

Evenepoel needs to sort out his weird cobblephobia first.
