), also Movistar doesn't have the best offer money wise but he says that right now he is more concerned about the sportive (is this the right word? ) level then the financial level of the offer.

I'm trying to thin of the best way to say it...
More concerned about the teams ability to compete at the top level would probably be best, but changing sportive to sporting makes it a bit easier to understand while not being correct.

I was a bit lazy trying to say it all in one word, but ya the amount of support he gets and how much freedom to chose his calender is what is more important to him than the money.
Anyway rumours in Portugal say Sky and BMC are interested. In sky he would have even less freedom than at Movistar so i think that is out of the question. In BMC he would be the leader next year considering the way Evans, Gilbert and TJVG performed this year, but amount of riders under performing at BMC is ridiculous so i hope he doesn't go there
Lampre has the money from merida they couldn't use last year because it came too late and they need points and a leader. The main sponsor is also interested on the Portuguese market so that is a plus.
Katusha could also be interested considering Purito isn't getting any younger and i don't see Moreno and Spilak being able to take over from him, but i don't see Costa being capable of replacing Rodriguez either so . . .

Honestly, i think he is perfect where he is. For a rider to shine, no need for it being in Le Tour. If he stays in Movistar, he is leader for the Ardennes, at least Liege, letting Wallone for someone like Nairo, leader at Paris-Nice, Suisse, Montreal and Quebeque etc... He doesn't have the engine for the mountains in a 3 week race, as we noticed. At least for now.

In principle I agree with the stage hunting, but I see lots of changes happening in the GC field these days.
Some look much weaker, others betters etc. Many are getting old and needs to retire.
Anyway time will tell.

Sounds like a smart decision. Vattenfall doesn't really suit him anyway. Will also give him more time off racing to reach the final part of the season fresher, something that didn't happen last year as by the times he got to the Canadian races you could see his form was already on the downhill.
Also he really seems to be focusing more and more on his climbing. I wonder if he will manage to take it up another notch next season.
