yeah, also no bonus seconds, so it makes no sense to slow down. full full until the sprint

Would be really stupid to wheelsuck yeah. a Top 2 in GC here gives 170 points (+20 for second place in stage), Leknessund has scored that amount only once in his career (in his one good GT). And he can still win GC later on (doubt it but you never know).

As much as the peloton has screwed this up, it isn't exactly a coincidence that Romeo and Leknessund are those taking full advantage and they deserve plenty of credit for both this ride and their attacking trackrecord in general.

These kinds of chases in these races in Spainn should be taught in cycling schools to learn how not to do them.
It seems only sprinters' teams know how to do them.
