Remember Froome is a master descender. He invented pedaling while sitting on the top tube.

Contador did THE SAME THING today on the downhill

It's something he's still working on.
Didn't look fully comfortable today.

No, but I think he tried to.

He tried on the mountain. He tried some on the descent. He didn't try in the final at all. He clearly knew it would be useless.

Cink is newbie to the road cycling, quality ride from him. He lost quite enough seconds downhill, at the top he was almost with front group, or entirely. Don't know why.

Valverde has often been frustratingly conservative, including on occasions where conservatism worked against him. But when you are racing a stronger climber who you are faster than in a sprint, trying to hold his wheel uphill and then beat him in the sprint is completely rational.

acording to Strava he did the same time in "El Purche" as Pinot and 9s behind Riechenbach group.. not bad

Which I just did .

Very nice win for Valverde, a feisty Contador, that's some good racing. Very good team Sky. FDJ was quite strong as well today. Reichenbach's move at the kite was a little telegraphed, but nice 3rd place. Pinot is not fully recovered from his stomach flu, needs to work himself into shape, but good finish.

It's a 10-man horse race now. Behind Valverde and Contador, it's eight guys for one podium spot. Some good racing to be expected tomorrow.
