He may have dominated here, but I still have faith in Stijn, Tommeke + Ballan for the big ones

Actually glad to see Haussler didn't make the podium. He didn't deserve it.

Haussler couldn't even manage SECOND. Garmin pretty much has to win tomorrow because they have no chance at Flanders or Roubaix.

Maybe Farrar can provide some consolation if he wins the Scheldeprijs.

It isn't like Sky has a chance either...

Chapeau Garmin. ;)

Stupid tactics. Really some of the dumbest racing I have seen in awhile. I think when they took the radios, they took their brains too...

Watching the slomo replay, it looked like Hausler just gave up right before the line and he dropped to 4th. I can't understand the announcers, so did he not even make the podium?

Haussler kinda threw that away didn't he? Can't imagine JV will be too happy.

unless he willingly ignored orders from the car, JV should only have himself to blame

CN feed:

Vladimir Gusev (Katusha) was third in the sprint, with Sep Vanmarkcke (Garmin-Cervelo) taking fourth place and Bram Tankink (Rabobank) fifth.
Haussler was just behind.
Uhhh, yeah....understatement. :D

best on cobbles.

Did pretty well at MSR this year, won it before won MSB before as well. So not just cobbles.

In the Flemish races he's the absolute best yes.

You can't be the best in Lombardia, Luik, AGR and Fleche if you've never ridden them.

His dominance on cobbles and the way he wins them (solo for a very very long time) is vastly superior to any performance ive seen in the Ardennes or Northen italy from the current crop of specialists. Moreover theres no one in the Hilly classics who has the ability to simply win any race he chooses. Different people win every race. On cobbles on the other hand any race Canc wants to win, he wins.

Easily best one day racer in the world.

Haussler needs to shut his mouth and let his legs do the talking.

Cut the blogs, win some races and stop complaining about coming off, lack of kilometer's, bad luck or whatever etc etc.

pretty impressive performance from Cancellara, but let's be honest, not a lot of real high calibre contenders around, hope he didn't spend too much force that will be needed next Sunday in Flanders.

At least Gilbert will have decent support at the Ronde.

+1

Good to see the OPL boys riding hard today; glad to see Phillipe will have some help next week.

Huge fail from Hausler, for sure. VanMarcke did all you could have asked of him today, HH just wasn't even close.

After Spartacus' third bike issue, I thought 'Hey, maybe we'll actually see a race today!'

Silly me ;)

No one does more complaining than Cancellara, and look how fast he's riding.

That's because the Ardennes classics can't be won by long solos unlike the Flemish races.

Best one day racer needs to have the ability to win in any one day race of importance.

Milan-San Remo has always been a race that every type of cyclist can win, but heavily favors sprinters. But Cancellara is the best cobbled racer right now. No need to go further than that.

Poor Lars Boom, he dropped everyone on the Kwaremont, but had the problem dat Cancellara was riding 5 km/h faster :D

I thought Cancellara signed his death wish because there so many in front, but he simply rode them off, on a flat piece in the wind.. LOL

This guy is unbeatable.
