i still think costa is faster then gesink on a sprint if that's what you are asking. but god forbid some1 thinking another rider is better then gesink at anything.
I see what you're getting at (don't pick a fight, mr. Moderator ;)) but actually Gesink has a pretty decent sprint on him, if everyone else is at their limit.

Don't know if Andy has raced enough for us to tell if he has been getting worse. He did win a Tour this year.

Doesn't tell us much now does it?

Indeed. In normal circumstances I'd bet on costa in a sprint tho .

he(gesink) wasn't exactly beating world class sprinters today tho.

what i said earlier today was if Costa wasn't dropped (at the time after his verbier performance it looked like he could hang on today) i thought he could out sprint gesink. ofc struggling like he was today Costa wouldn't even outsprint me but that doesn't change anything or does it?

also being a mod doesn't stop me from having an opinion. ;)

Well Rui wouldn't outsprint Gesink after being dropped a couple of times and being completely cooked. Parrulo's theory wasn't made under those assumptions I suppose.

Watch track if you want sprints where stamina, etc. does not play a role.

But at the end of such a climb, everyone is always at their limit. And that's when Gesink can do a good sprint, that's what he's good at: suffering more than others. (not that he was very good at that today)

If I didn't know better I'd think you were baiting Dekker_T ;)

What's normal circumstances? This is like apples and oranges. Do you see Gesink getting in a breakaway with Costa? Or Costa finishing in the same group as Gesink on a MTF?

Nevertheless, Gesink showed improvement over Verbier, but compared to ToC he is climbing worse. Because there he was clearly better than Danielson and Leipheimer. Now it's the other way around.
Hope he gets his peak right for the Tour...

There are 2 weeks left for training. He showed he improved as this race went on, same as in ToC. I'd say he's looking good to peak on the 3rd week of the Tour, which is when it counts...Can Wiggins say the same thing?

Hmmmm just a side note but, Poels is really dissappointing me this year in general and once again this Tour de Suisse.

Come, is this the guy that got 2nd on Angliru? That was sprinting up steep walls against Rodriguez? He got 25th at 3'57 on a bunch of hills.

Hmm, I think he is a bit easy on himself. His brother Norbert had a better mentality but far less talent

exciting stage today, hope we get even more action tomorrow. With Franky and Gesink here in TdS I still have hope UK Postal won't be able to dominate the tour.

Fränk is very aggressive this year, he's almost attacking as much as Andy is abandoning races:D

Btw, Fuglsang did ok today. Setting the pace for Fränk in the beginning of the final climb, and then not losing so much. Klöden on the other hand...

Yes indeed Fuglsang did well! So did my friend Liney, I was really surprised to see him up there so late in the race, that must have been his best performance since over one year ago. Maybe RSNT must take him to the Tour after all! I hope Fuglsang can still improve until the Tour, then we could see some really nice performances.

Fränk I fear will be too tired in the third week because he did too much racing (Giro-Luxembourg-Suisse) without much recuperation, while the other main contenders only did 1 race before the Tour. Except for Gesink but he had a decent interval between California and Suisse
