anything can happen. be ready to eat crow too just in case. it would be really interesting to read some regulars' explanations, in case andy gets equal to contador by the number of the tour titles. :p

I have no problem giving credit when it's due but never the less if Andy wins, I don't have to like it. There would be no need for an explanation.
If he wins that would speak for itself. As far as him equaling Contador's number of Tour titles, as was posted previously, he still has to earn his first on the road and ride into Paris wearing yellow. Let's see him equal Contador's overall record of success. Unfortunately Contador will be returning to thwart any dreams of grand tour success that Andy may have.

I'm a firm believer that if Andy continues on the pr road that he's on, that he will eventually start speaking ill of Contador, which will result in Contador laying claim to the Ardennes as one of his season goals, as a means of putting a sock in Andy's mouth, leaving him with no where to gain success, going through winless season after winless season. His only resort will be trying to win the Tour of Luxemburg, an event that he oddly hasn't won.

im pretty sure 90% of stuff depends on initial perception. one would like to concentrate on cycling, other one - on whining. thats why i root for andy's beautiful attacks, his alchemy of climbing in every movement, ability to be oneself. harping about whining is often just an attempt to justify a personal dislike. The guy won the most prestigious one day race + most prestigious gt.thats more than enough. the forum is full of guys who consider themselves to be real cycling fans herewith hating one of the best riders. it puzzles me

I don't hate him. I just don't respect him.

Your hero doesn't think of himself as the winner of the 2010 Tour. Why do you?

For many cyclists the World championships or the Olympics are more prestigious.

i wasn't including the worlds on the 1 day race list tbh, and i don't really care about the olympics

what LBL? andy clearly won roubaix. . . .

what is really p!ssing me off is the fact that these trolls that understand 0 of this beautiful sport are going to see andy as a GT winner when clearly he isn't.

I could start by saying that andy hasn't showed what it takes to win mentally (far from it) just like physically when we are talking about a balanced tour. he has the talent but he has always been lucky. contador (for example) has been one of the most unlucky riders i can remember or he would've been cleaning all GTs he enters since 2006 vuelta, for example.

contador is a gladiator, with the talent to back him up.. andy is the opposite (gladiator wise). how can i like him?

again, this can be compared to other sports. messi and ronaldo. one appeared a bit earlier and has the "media" always interested in his life, is always the news, gets everything he wants outside football, needs to be the center of everything, etc. the other just plays with passion and magic.

how can a true football lover like ronaldo over messi?
how can a true tennis lover prefer nadal over federer?

anyway, f*ck football.

contador is a warrior and a winner. andy isn't. maybe one day, when he reaches his peak (40 if riding for radioshleck) and becomes an adult i will respect him. until there, we are waiting for you contador.

(it would be so sweat if valverde wins this years tour)

LBL is the oldest. Paris-Roubaix is likely the most prestigious.
LBL may be the most prestigious for puncheurs and climbers. PR and RVV for the
hard men/rolleurs.

Edit: I didn't take into consideration the World's or the Olympics. Although unfortunately Samu gets very little respect IMO for his Olympic road race win.

Maybe if Andy respected the fans who turn out to the races he enters more, they'd respect him more. Just a thought.

it is only your grading scale. gt winners are not measured by one's opinion, based on emotional assessment and rooting for the other rider. probably id agree to that partially, but previously you wrote that cadel is not a true champion either. its a disease

youre free to open a new thread in the clinic, where other forum members would gladly evaluate contador's luck..

what andy takes has nothing to do with contador's luck. contador is above andy not only physically but also mentally. it does not matter what andy takes, that hasn't changed.

those "low blows" and sarcasm that you use to mention andy's doping program and doping as a whole don't have a place in this section. if you want talk about it, don't do it here please.

for the record, this sport has its magic and cyclists created that magic with death, pain, sweat, blood, tears, and joy. even armstrong gave it all for this sport. andy is a disgrace, a farce and you are part of it.

how does it feel to be seen as a joke?

Andy is 26 and has a palmares that makes him far from a disgrace or a farce.

BTW, your aggressive style of posting, verging on bullying IMO, does you no credit.

nothing but mania to elevate your riders by denegrating the others. everyone who participates in gt, i think, already started going in for cycling not in vain. everyone, who finished, is a real hero for me...whereas andy scleck is a disgrace. man youre going to rule universe least, as i see.

andy is 26? do you think that he is going to stay at radioshleck forever? they only get a second chance at 35. you know de deal.

he is a disgrace if you compare him to contador, tom, canc, freire, cav, etc. that's the point. obviously the guy know how to ride a bike (no he doesn't. lol)
