Fast forward and frank has a Tour podium lolThe Hitch said:Actually may have a point.
I may have mixed up some of Andys words about Sastre with Franks.
Frank does continue to, even 4 years later, moan that he wishes Sastre hadnt won the Tour http://translate.google.com/transla...nalt/Forside/Da-Schleckene-ble-forbannet-8900
But it does seem that even in this case, the most ridiculous comes from Andy's mouth, such as claiming that the won the Tour for Sastre.
Maybe Frank isnt such a bad guy afterall, no saint, but not as bad as Andy.
However he does also have a Tour only attitude. Not a catergory 5 disease like andy, but only when compared to Andy does he try in other races.
Like Andy hes missing the Ardennes this year, like Andy hes skipping a Giro that suits him much better. Andy was critisced for taking the **** in Pais Vasco but he still beat Frank who came 16th.
He never really brings it in any WT stage race apart from Suisse win which was TDF form anyway.
Yes he won Criterium International, but thats hardly much to brag about for allegedly one of the 5 best climbers in the world, when riders like Valverde, Contador, Nibali, J Rod, Levi, Evans etc rack these kind of wins up for fun.
And hes very overated. Not neccesarily his fault I know, but when you read an article saying that Frank Schleck can "win Paris Nice if he feels like it", but Samu Sanchez is too poor a tter, as is Sylvain Chavannelyou just dont know whether to laugh or cry.

theres gonna be much mourning in july.Angliru said:I root for them to lose, but not secretly.![]()
Nope, you're right on target.hughmoore said:I still dont get how Frank thinks he would have won the GC.
He was ten seconds in front of Evans going into Alpe Duez.
Sastre gained 2 mins because initially Evans didnt chase, he rolled the dice and won.
Evans let Sastre go, as he was defending against Frank, Sastre rode well, Cadel couldnt peg him back.
Does he think Cadel would have let Frank ride off and get 3 mins.
He lost 3mins 23 in the TT.
How does he think he would of won? Or am I missing something?
As I previously mentioned in this thread, if Frank were going to win the TDF that year, given that his time trial performance remain constant, he would have had to do the fastest ascend of Alpe d'Huez of all time.hughmoore said:I still dont get how Frank thinks he would have won the GC.

Angliru said:Certainly!I think we can take pleasure in knowing that Contador will be back at the Vuelta and the after Tour events, wreaking havoc like a force of nature, all while Andy and Frank will be at home sucking their thumbs over having lost another Tour.

He was never involved in Contador's case and he was the best rider in the tour and was first on GC(GC wise) ,therefore to say he hasn't won the tour in pure idiocyCarols said:Has to win on the road not in the courts....and Ride like a winner not a whiner. We shall see.....

The guy won the most prestigious one day race + most prestigious gt.thats more than enough. the forum is full of guys who consider themselves to be real cycling fans herewith hating one of the best riders. it puzzles me
