They can't perform well in the cold and rain? I'm guessing next year's TdF will be completely under roof.

But seriously...That's a bad excuse. I'm sure Contador loves cold weather, being from Spain and all. Referring to themselves as 'The Schlecks' is pretty rediculous too.

I suppose cold is a good excuse. Spain is north of Luxembourg, right?

“Contador knows all too well that the Schlecks don’t perform at their best in the cold and rainy conditions,” Fränk said. “It’s all part of the game -- knowing your opponents and knowing their weaknesses. He knows the conditions today, coupled with the dangerous descent, were not our strong point.”

Climbers who do not like cold or descending are like April classicsmen who do not like rough roads.

There are plenty of climbers who don't like descending.

And that's why Fränk should break up with his brother. Not everybody would support him, but they'd all respect him.

That...if I were Frank, I would have moved out after last year Vueltas fiasco. I really don't get why he does it still...

Andy's lead up to the Tour was shaky at best and he's showing he's not on his best form. He has no chance to win the Tour. AC is the man with panache and the Schleck's don't have an ounce of his courage. I'm happy Andy the whiner got dropped today. Keep making excuses, Mr. Tool. Oh, and Frank, please stop referring to you and your sister as "the Schlecks". That's just plain embarrassing. :)

One thing is that Andy has not shown a lot of heart in his riding. A whole other matter is the comments he has been making to the press. It's a PR disaster.

Strange thing is that Brian Nygaard was the press officer at Saxobank before he left. When he was appointed team manager of Leopard I thought that the public image would be the one thing that this team had under control.

aahhh

I knew he didnt have the firepower in the TOC when the camera showed him shaking his head on that last climb. He should have been hammering horner and levi, not necessarily outclassing them but hammering him. Makes you wonder if the TOC is adequate preperation for the TDF. maybe he should have rode the Giro. How are the Giro riders doing vs the TOC riders. would be interesting to look at stats.

Based on Andy's limited palmares of 6 wins (excluding nat championships) I'd say the only thing AS has proven to be good at is losing.

He can't sprint
He can't TT
He can't descending
He can't shifting
Uphill doesn't suit him, Soft climbs neither
He just peak 4 weeks a year

And he is the 2nd stage racer in the world? come on¡¡

Spartacus needs to slap Andy around to knock the sand out of his vag.

AWESOME +1

I hate how Andy came out and blamed the loss of time on the organisers and their poor design of the route.

He's right about the poor design though, there should have been another 40km+ time trial in there.

Andy Schleckond.

The schleckond best stage racer in the world has not even won a stage race. Contador wins a few every year.

You mean 60km ITT, like back in the day.
