When they feel the need to fit nets on the corners/curves of a descent with gravel and dirt roads, I think you have left the domain of what can be called normal. Additionally gravel/dirt roads that lean toward the dropoffs/cliffs instead of away from it, I think would be a bit of a concern.

You go up, you come down. It's pretty simple.

... how you get down is up to you

So you chose to ignore that one was in conditions that are normal in a standard race and the other was in conditions/terrain/roads that even the event itself deemed exceptional due to the extensive measures that were taken? Good for you. Pat yourself on the back for your intiative.

Funny that the two that keep on arguing against this are the two biggest Schleck fans on this forum.

Maybe the Schlecks should listen to Cadel's press conference and his comments about how he like the rest of the pro peloton are 'racers' for a living.

Who do you think would win a fist fight between Andy Shleck & Justin Bieber?

The fans.

It doesn't matter which one wins, they will be doing something that a large % of the population wants to do.

Considering complexity of the uphill the descent was easier and safer than Pra Martino one.

Andy. It would be like The Karate Kid without a Miagi. Not only does Andy beat him up and steal his bike, but Frank, Cance, Horner and Montfort all get a few shots in as well. Isn't this the same Andy that went barhopping (with Stuey!) in enemy territory in the summer of 2010: am I to believe that team rules were the only things getting broken that night?

I disproved your arguement with logic, but it seems you are impervious to logic. So I gave in and followed your logic, giving an example that it is indeed simple and that indeed everyone always comes down one way or another. Even Tom Simpson came down, eventually. Yet you are still not satisfied even when I embrace your "logic"?? :D ;)

No seriously though I seem to remember many people on the forum complaining about Crostis descend being removed. I might be wrong, haven't gone back and looked it up, but my general impression is that most people were against it being removed and I was one of the only brave people to call it for what it was - just another epic Zomegnan fail. I don't know which side you stood on at the time - if you were always for the removal of Crostis then I salute you my fellow forumite. Once again though I believe at the time that was not the general consensus. I might be wrong though

Arguing about descends is much easier then getting into philosophical debates about what constitutes truth, is there even such a thing as truth, are we not all liars in the end and where did that cow come from anyways. Just not that big on philosophy

What airstream you wanna fight? You're asking for it.
fght? for what? i think you tend to agree with me without fight. being a fan has nothing to do with that. we just don't live in contador centric cycling axis system, thought out by his fans. its totally alternative imaginary reality which doesn't exist. by the way you have to prepare yourself for difficult times. the only thing im sure with absolute certainty - contador will never win the tour. do you have any arguments, other than "he is 100% perfection" and "uh?! I say what i want!"?

What? You've got to be kidding.

1) Maybe we should fight for this:
still for me personally the difference between di luca and contador is despite being caught il killer managed to stay the legend!
2) Why should I prepare for difficult times? In 4 months this difficult time will come to an end.
3) You can be as sure as you want, one thing I know for sure is that he's already won the Tour. Twice or thrice, whatever you want.

of course. for me, di luca was/is a much better rider than contador on set of racing and personal qualities.
because they never go back being the same after suspension.
yes, won 2 times but wont do it more.

Won 3 times but otherwise I agree with you, but only because he'll never get the chance again.
Why are you so categorical on his right of entrance? he won't have problems to start. though it's a bit weird that when they caught il cobra, he was arrested and questioned by police whereas contador got away with it. ;)
