the hatred for especially andy is turning slowly into pity almost. although again today I had a good laugh. I think they were even arguing during race with bruyneel. even bruyneel probably is facepalming by now

Yet another fine showing by the brothers Schleck

What a pair of ne're-do-wells!!!

Can't wait to hear the excuses :D
There you go, knock yourself out :D

"I had fantastic legs at the start,” said Andy Schleck. “But it just didn’t go as planned. There were crashes of course, but we can’t always be blaming the weather. We have to start dealing with the situations better that develop during the race since it’s the same for everyone. I can’t say this has been a bed of roses; it has not been a good year for us. We have not been lazy, everyone has worked hard. But we cannot blame anyone else. We can only blame ourselves."

Well I'm impressed, he actually accepts responsibility and speaks like an adult...I should post on the appreciation thread instead! I actually appreciate those quotes and the fact that no blame is assigned other than to himself!

Corrected it for Andy.

until recently Fränk's palmares MUCH better (and for many it still is).

Is this a common view? Four GT podiums (including 3 consecutive white jerseys at the Tour) and a Monument victory seem more impressive to me than Frank's record; despite being limited in scope, it is at the highest level of competition.

1st Stage 4 Tour de Suisse

+1 me too. Another Ardennes win (preferably LBL) and Paris-Nice and his palmarès would we complete

In that case, it seems clear; I had thought palmares was a slightly broader term, but it seems not.
I was including other results as well when I wrote that, but obviously they're not as valuable as a win, and Fränk has his fair share of podiums and top 5 placements in important races too.

Frank has ridden to his talent level IMO....he wins the races he is capable of winning.

Andy on the other hand, his win record does NOT reflect his awesome talent...I think it's in his head that the problem exists, not his legs.

But this year they both S*CK so far....

yes i have been a bigger frank fan then what i am atm due to his performance this season but i think he deserves a LBL win after so many years of being close.

Sadly you only get what you take, not what you deserve, or think you deserve.

+1 on both ... but when you look back since 2006 he has been one of the most constant performers in the Ardennes unless a crash took him out. This year he wasn't able to repeat but compared to his performances of the last 6 years it is a clear exception.

In a post-race interview with rtl.lu he said something interesting: "When we're at the top, we don't need anyone, we don't need the people. We need the people and our fans when we're in a difficult situation, when we have bad luck and when things keep piling up ... like they are at the moment".

That's why I still support them

Frankie always where the smart one (I am THIS close on a Godfather quote).

I like Frankie still. Even if he sometimes defend his brother by saying silly things.

Ah. Well let's hope it doesn't come that far, especially since these brothers own a pond ...

Everyone, who visits this thread, cos he sincerely empathizes with the Schecks and wishes them good (bashers, don't read this post), unwind and smile, I ask you. Just 2 and a half months later we'll be celebrating Andy TdF victory remembering these damned unfortunate Ardennes as a nightmare.
