2nd place, too! I could see a cyclist switching to XC, maybe not at the highest level but surely aerobic capacity and maybe some, ahem, clinic stuff would transfer right over?
Lack of upper body strength and technique would be a big problem for most of them who didn't use to ski as kids like Sepp. I know that Pinot used to do lots of skiing in the winter before his back problems happened and Trentin spends around 1 month in the off season doing most of his training by skiing at altitude.
Skiers switching over would be easier, mainly the lighter skating specialists like Spitsov, Roethe and Krüger.
Roland Clara who has won on the Alpe Cermis and held the record on the climb for a few years is a monster on the bike and he used to be around 65kg with clearly more upper body mass than a cyclist, someone like that would have lots of potential.

Imagine if he starts hooking up with Diggins, I don't think you could handle that combination...
Can't wait for Sepp to take to the road with glitter all over his face, and Carlton Kirby to start screaming about how the Jumbo servicemen are screwing him in total indignance because he can't believe Sepp isn't contending for the win in a bunch sprint stage while Brian Smith animatedly shouts "COME ON SEPP!" in the background, just to spite me further.

(I nearly said Sean Kelly, but Smith works better for two reasons. 1) Smith is far more partisan and liable to follow Kirby's inanity/insanity; 2) I think I can count on one hand the amount of times Sean has got animated on commentary in the last decade)

For a cyclist to become a successful skier it would probably have to be someone like Kuss (or Hamilton) who has spend a lot of time in the snow from an early age. There are some cyclists who uses skiing as training during the off-season, but I doubt they would be able to do a full transformation now.

I think Adam Blythe would be the one shouting Come on Sepp when he wasn't just telling us once again how he used to be one of the boys, but other than that it sounds about right to me.

Very Disappointing today :( He is so inconsistent :(
Yeah, that's a weak point when the team is down to 3 support riders in the mountains. I was surprised how early he dropped but McNulty and Bjerg were on career days, and dropped everyone else, too.

Early? He got dropped when the group was 5 people. His performance was good. It's just that McNulty summoned his inner Porte.
Early as in not being there for Vingegaard when it really mattered, even to pace the first few kms of the final climb. That said, it didn't matter in the end.

Wrong. If you're Kuss and you drop 5 km to the finish line when the group is 20 people, yes you're dropped early. When you're dropped when the group has 5 people (top 3 in the GC) that's not early, even if it's 100 km to the line.
It's not Kuss that dropped early, it's the race being blown really early. Heck, they beat the record of that climb.
