Cool!

Reminds of Aquarone's comments on the wildcards distribution for the Giro. That time I was very surprised to hear that he considered Farnese as the most commercial attractive team. Now I understand....

Sad news imo. That someone like Cipo with all that he achieved continues to lust for the bike so much that he feels the need to come back.

We see similar attitudes from Lance and Rebbelin who hasn't even bothered with the retirement stage.

Guys should follow the Merckx example. Push yourself to the absolute max in the 15-20 years of your career, then let yourself go.

Merckx last few years were disastrous for someone like him. He didn't have a choice, he had to retire even if he didn't want to.

As long as he can get his head right I am sure that the Lion King will have the legs. If I was Cav I would be nervous.

Cav might have to put both his feet in his pedals to overtake him this time.

Agree, or even better, like Hinault...class, class, class...

The 'help Guardini' fools no one; he's admitted he can't let go of the 'emotions' of an athlete. And there he was telling Ricco to forget cycling. Yeah, thanks Grandad.

Just remember that form is temporary. Class is permanent.
He also has the advantage of his own bikes so it is likely that he will build himself the fastest machine available.

Good for the Giro if it happens. Unfortunately it rests in the hand s of the UCI.
Will they show the same leniency to Cipo as they did to Lance??

I can't recall the reasoning (other than the obvious:$$$$$$) behind the UCI waiving the 6 month prior testing requirement for Armstrong. How can they deny Cipollini if they allowed Armstrong? Would look quite fishy.

Cippo isn't in the testing pool. Armstrong was 2weeks short of being in the testing pool for full 6month prior to race.

And it will probably be a crazy customized bike that has colors to shock the eyes :)

Remember this guy? Malcolm Elliott in 1987 on Blue Peter

Retired in 1997.
Came back in 2003 and only just retired again at 50, having handed out a kicking to many riders less than half his age.

Don't underestimate Cippo!

With all due respect to the legend that is Malcolm Elliott, riding domestically on the British circuit is a million miles than trying to make a comeback at the Giro.

There's a big difference between riding in the British Cycling Premier Calendar and the Giro d'Italia though.
