Cipo back? F@CK YEAH! Like you said Joe, as long as he is fit enough not to be an embarassment to himself and his team then why not?joe_papp said:+1. I'd love to see him return to racing, even if not at the Giro (though I doubt he'd turn a pedal in anger if it wasn't), as long as he gets himself fit enough not to be an embarrassment. And I completely understand the motivation for wanting to return. In that sense he might be comparable to M. Schumacher in F1 somewhat, who returned and continues driving w/o a win, but w/o worrying about what some say is the "harm" he's doing to his legacy. He drives b/c it is pleasing to him.![]()

palmerq said:I think he could do a job as a lead out man, I am no expert but it seems a lot of being a good leadout man is in the mind and Cipo has great experience.. I think if he wants to be competitive in the sprints then he's going to get a bit embarrassed..

I think Cipo would get respect in the leadout simply because he's still bigger than just about everyone except Geert Steegmans.joe_papp said:There's definitely a mental component to it, but of course that's in addition to the need to be fit enough to cover the race distance, and then maintain one's position in the lead-out train as the sprint winds-up, before ultimately taking a turn at the front and delivering the sprinter to position.
I wonder how much "respect" would be shown to the old, aging Lion by this new crop of sprinters, especially someone like Cav' who, unlike Super Mario, can actually win most of the time when he's even w/o a train...
Maybe the fact that Mario abandoned all those Tours means he still has a bit of endurance left in the tank that otherwise would've been forever lost on the roads of France lol...

cipo is still training like a posessed and started to do the things for getting his license as a pro rider
in a sprint simulation he did 1780 watts!cipo still is world class.
and it seems there are other teams interested in him besides farnese.
Beech Mtn said:Curious as to who these other teams are. It's too bad Astana have 29 riders already - would've been kind of cool to see Cipo riding for them and mentoring Valentin Iglinsky.
Michele said:It would be interesting to see how they would sort out the bike sponsor; I dont image he would ride anything else than his bike.
