there is an ignore feature for a reason, bpc was trolling all day under some biological element name or something, just scrolled on by, he has no credibility. Why the 'Senators' of the forum even engage is beyond me. He's a nut. Truly. I have no interest in anything he says. But I think to kick Polish out is really wrong.

Who's to say I am not equally irritating? What about ACF? I see his posts in a stage thread and I generally just scroll on by. When the posts are flooding in like today, you can't read every post so you need to be selective.

I don't even care about BPC, just scroll on by and let the mods deal with it.

Live and let live.

We need a rule that people get banned for a week if they respond to BPC once he has been identified. :)

I never read Polish's posts. Most are blatant trolls; the rest are garbage.

Maybe he should be DQ'ed if you get my drift.

That will just make him a lurker and he'll likely just come back under another name.

Although I never go the DP forums any more, I still get email notices of new threads and every new thread a certain "DQ'ed" poster creates there is identical to those here, right down to the title and links.

Can any of you guys ever recall a time when you have spoken out against someone who was 'trolling' that you actually agreed with?

Nows your chance to prove you don't use 'trolling' as a term to silence those you don't like....

Big Boat.

Aside from him, the reality based crowd does not seem to have the crazies that the Armstrong homer group does.

Interesting. You claim to have once spoken out against a user called Big Boat who presumably doesn't post here anymore.

That's the only person who has ever trolled that you agreed with right?

You've never seen other people say silly things or make jokes on your own side on a constant daily basis - like throughout the threads today where we had people calling Schleck a pussy, admitting they would not have defended AC if he was Armstrong, and then saying real men understand that guys react in the heat of the moment (despite that contradicting everything they hate about Armstrong chasing Simoani down etc).

You never see that stuff? But you saw it once from a guy called Big Boat six months or a year ago?

Doesn't anyone else want to tell us when they last spoke out against trolling from someone they agreed with?

Polish is one of this forum's treasures. His posts are AMAZING. He is a troll in the truest, most diabolical sense of the word. Everything he posts is carefully designed to get a rise out of and play off of the expectations of his readers, and I doubt he really even believes/supports what he's saying. So many other repeat offenders on this forum have no art whatsoever. They should be ashamed.

He sucked me in a few times before I started reading his posts as the satire that they are. Less Bill O'Reilly and more Stephen Colbert, only even more of the straight man. I've only a seen a few cracks in his armor, and I think the fact that there is a poll (with overwhelmingly negative results) about this is pretty indicative of his success.

Polish stays.

I like the fact that Polish never defends himself against the trolling that he is a troll. That's class that some of us aren't very good at.

And it is trolling to say someone is a troll in this silly way - that's precisely what you guys are doing right now. You know that, I know that, we all know that. It's a smear 'don't respond to the troll'. I mean, we've got BroDeal here who specialises in homesexual jokes complaining about trolling!

Just because Polish is a funny guy does not make him a troll. He actually does make some good points.

WonderLance is the best troll here IMO. Not sure how 'best' makes any sense, so probably funniest..

He's probably the only pure troll there is here. You can actually call him a troll and it not be just some type of smear because you disagree with him. He really is a troll!

One taker so far....(and a not very convincing answer)

Should Vino withdraw from the Tdf? (by Polish) = Should Polish withdraw from the Cyclingnews Forum? IOW - I was having some fun :p

You mean you set up a thread for the sole purpose of having some fun?

That would be trolling. But we know there has never been a recorded case of someone trolling who most guys here agree with, so how can that, somewhat ironic, fact be true?

I know, lets all just forget that you have just been trolling and assert people we disagree with are trolling. That makes sense right?

Well, I am pretty sure I have only called people a troll when they were trolling. If I don't like what they say, I have other words :p Why is this so important to you? Have you been called a troll before?

The question was, have you ever spoken out against someone you agreed with that was trolling.

Say people are hating on a rider that you did not like anyway, and were going over the top. Or perhaps they just set up a thread to have a joke about another user. Have you ever spoken out against that type of trolling?

Give us an example?
