Absolutely, why wouldn't you?

It's good to look 'bello in selle' and having a coordinated strip helps.

I'm no capitalist, but if a company is brave enough to support cycling I'm willing to wear their name, but only if their kit is nice.

If you think you have to ride like a pro or otherwise earn the right to wear a trade team or champion's jersey, well, aren't you taking things a little too seriously? Then again, cycling is full of nervous type-A's and that kind of anal-retentive thinking is pretty predictable.

It's also a subtle self-congratulation: by refusing to wear such and such, you're putting yourself in an elite category anyway: 'I'm just like them.'

They're just clothes, man. Wear what you like and be nice to each other.

At the World Champs the only other team kit aside from the Australian one for sale was the Irish won - and look at it. One of the best kits ever.

I caught Nicolas Roche's bottle - what are peoples thoughts on ProTour bottles!

ProTour bottles are awesome :D I got one of katusha :D

I've got a PDM jersey I still wear. Still looks great.

If only they still made jerseys with that fabric. I can't explain how it's different, but it fits and washes better than any of the others.

Wore mine yesterday. It has a terry cloth-like interior that makes it nice for cool weather. The black on the bottom of the jersey eliminates a harsh transition to your black shorts, and that looks nice.

I'd love a PDM kit. Doing the Gong ride in 2009 I spoke to a fit couple in matching PDM jerseys (the girl was a real knockout, a slim brown Tahitian with an amazing smile.) They looked great.

I've got a La Vie Claire jersey I bought in 1986 when I began cycling. I still wear it! I'll post a pic only the file's too big; I have to figure out how to shrink it.
Any ideas? Should I post to tinyURL or something?

Also wear 1989 ADR and 1992 Clas Cajastur and a long-sleeve 1994 Chazal that really stands out on cold, foggy mornings . Wouldn't mind an old Saeco cuz I ride a 'Dale.

There was a time when all you could get were team jerseys. It's good now because so much cool non-team stuff is available. Like the look of Babici. Very similar in design to Leopard.

Is it ok to wear carrera jeans gear (stephen roche era)? he said sarcastically.

where i am from most cyclists like to see someone on a bike regardless of what they wear,
the more the merrier,
its just a pity that the ones you see out when the tour is on the telly,
dissappear after the race is finished, you know the ones, wearing a maillot jaune and the dusted down budget bike, shame you never see them again till the next july. this is not a critiscism of them , but i get the feeling they are scared they might meet up with a few of the "cooler types" and may be intimidated by them:)

do what you feel like doing , if you are not doing anyone any harm
whats the problem.

I was just writing about the Carerra fuax stretch denim jeans knicks in my blog. My feeling is that you could really freak a few people out if you rolled up to a bunch ride with this on. It would be even better if you had the jersey but actually wore a pair of cut off stretch denim jeans as the knicks.

It would be awasome if you had the early balding pre shave marco pantani hair as well.

Them were the days....

On my ride yesterday I saw a guy in the "Believe Tyler" Tyler Hamilton Foundation kit--jersey and shorts. Totally awesome. By the time I got around to trying to pick up the jersey his site had stopped selling them.

I wear them. Probably wouldn't wear them in a race (I have neutral clothes) but I enjoy wearing a team kit, or other significant jerseys (I have a Maglia Rosa kit and a Rainbow jersey, as well as replica Merckx jerseys.) It's great to see others on the road in team kits, to see that there are people that actually follow cycling around here...where we are overwhelmed with Green Bay Packer football!
I see the debate from both sides, but I don't see anything wrong with being a fan and supporting the sport/teams and riders.

Besides, some of the team kits just look great!

Was great to see the people who took part in the RvV this weekend in all their club kits etc, great think to see.

I think if the kit doesnt match its a bit odd looking but if you're more interested in what people are wearing compared to your own cycling, you have issues. We are all out cycling having fun, thats the point isnt it?

there were so many quickstep kits out there it was quite funny. Quite a few lotto and sky too!
I saw two cancellara's, one looked fairly powerful when he charged by me on the flat, but he sucked on the hill just after (Eikenberg I think) as I cruised by him ;)

See team kits are one thing, but world champions jerseys? Nah, they should not even be available to the public.

Exactly, I own a couple of team kits, some pro and some from mates who are in teams. I honestly believe though that only people who have earned champions jerseys should be allowed to wear them.
