I skipped to the end of this thread, so maybe this was discussed before. Can he ride a flat time trial? Sure he won the uphill prologue TT, but can he duke it out with the other up and comers?
I'm sure we'll find out today.
The Hitch said:Henao lost the Vuelta a Colombia on the time trial this year and i hear he lost the Vuelta Juventudt on the tt twice as well so not really no.
Riding the Giro as first Grand Tour without any pressure would be best. If all goes well: prepare for the Vuelta with some pressure. The Hitch said:Then if Wiggins really is going for the Giro does Henao come to the Giro as help or do Sky launch a Colombian double assault on the Tour?

TeamSkyFans said:Wiggins is looking at how the combination of the Vuelta with the world time trial two weeks later goes this year, as that is a similar structure to the Tour/Olympic Time Trial.
Then they looking at wether the target is the Giro or the Tour. So if Wiggins does well in the worlds tt then the assumption will be tour, but if at the worlds hes burned out then it would point towards the giro.
On Henao, they may let him settle into a full seasons european racing before testing him in the Vuelta, with Uran getting leadership role in the Tour if wiggins doesnt ride. At least that would be the sensible option.
Then again, depends how Sergio feels. If he is feeling in great form, who knows, might ride the Giro. But i doubt it somehow.
Depends when he comes to Europe and how quickly he settles in I guess. There was talk of him heading over early, maybe post Utah to discuss race schedules and settle in. Sky do a very long training camp over the winter.
Shame they cant take him as a Stagiare for the italian autumn races.

Please prove me wrong.

I think/hope the Urán+Henao combo is going to be good for animating future GTs.
