It's very easy to say a degree doesn't mean sh*t. But what are you comparing with? The basic schooling most cyclists have? A degree is only as useful as what you do with it.

Cyclists have the time to study, hence all they need is the will power to study.

Not many will be set up for life by their careers, so they better get thinking!

There was an article in ProCycling magazine that contained an interview with FDJ's Jeremy Roy. The Q&A portion delved into his education, and that he has a master's degree in engineering. Roy explained how difficult it was being a fulltime student and a managing his training at the same time.

Can anyone else think of any other cyclists with degrees really impressive college degrees?

I know ex-Euskaltel rider Jon Bru has an industrial engineering degree, but he is the only other one I can think of.

Nobody mentionned her, but Maryline SALVETAT, one of the best french women cyclist of the last 2 decades is a medical Dr.

Of course the demands on top level women cyclists are less than for men, but still it's pretty impressive.

you can see that some years she was not fully dedicated to biking . no victories worth mentioning.

For a number of years she did not have her own medical practice but replaced colleagues, giving her time to prepare for really big events.

Of course, Christophe BASSONS, L.A.'s antidote, has an engineering degree, civil engineering if I am not mistaken.
