There seemed to be a lot more fuss made over Lamperti when they both joined the team. Has he been injured? Will his contract be renewed as it is up this year?First win after yesterdays Remco exit news🥳
Magnier is really special. He has improved his kick and top speed this year. Today he won by a country mile and he was also clearly the fastest on stage 1, but came from way back and also had to avoid riders in the last bend so had to settle for second behind Koij.
He looks good on the cobbles too. So races like Gent Wevelgem,RVV etc should suit him good. Milano-Sanremo too.
Needs to work on his endurance, but he reminds me somewhat of a light version of MVDP, but he is definitely faster then him in the bunch sprints.
Exciting times ahead🤞
Wasn’t he going to EF?There seemed to be a lot more fuss made over Lamperti when they both joined the team. Has he been injured? Will his contract be renewed as it is up this year?
He had a promising debut season last year. Struggled with a knee injury this winter and has unfortunatelly stagnated this season. Lacking base and top speed.Wasn’t he going to EF?

Thats true, but he has been out with a lot of injuries the last two years. Broken collarbone x 2, fractured hip, scapula and hand. His class is undisputed, but ofcourse, like Remco, he needs a longer period without big injuries to get back to top level.Van Baarle is also 33 years old and hasn't had a noticable result since February 2023.
That's more crazy than the mistakes made with Evenepoel. Development of a sprinter / classics jewel like Magnier is what has been Quick Step's key kill! So, Magnier's previous trainer had him train a lot on intensity and not on endurance. He supposedly looked like a body builder and it ruined a large part of his spring. In fact, it was Merlier who had to tell him he was overdoing it.
So, how did this guy become this trainer? How on earth did he even get hired by a WT team? How come nobody else noticed this and how come that a young talent like Magnier doesn't get monitored more closely? Looks like the team still didn't learn much from all the mistakes they made with Evenepoel.
After he got a new trainer, Magnier started working on endurance more again, lost muscle and now started winning again.
