It is part of the World Championship, but who will be elligible to start?

The WT teams, can some PCT team earn a wild card?
Is this known allready?

You've now listed the best time trialists of every team, not the best team time trialists. For instance, I think Boonen would be more useful for OPQS than Rabon or Kwiatkowski.

No I actually have tried to, but also try and think what the teams realistically will be. Gilbert could also be in BMC's best, but is it really that likely? These guys have other priorities and aren't going to be practicing TTTs for half the year.

So if the team win, do they all get rainbow jerseys? And what then?

- if the team enter a TTT, can all riders wear the rainbow jersey even if they weren't one of the six that won it?
- if a rider leaves the team in the offseason, are they eligible to wear the rainbow bands in TTTs for their new team since they won it in that discipline?

On the plus side, a standalone event is something the TTT is suited to. On the minus side, the whole aftermath thing is a bit of a mess, and frankly I find the whole 'trade team time trial' thing to be quite difficult to reconcile in the World Championships. Will they race in their normal team kits or their national kits, or some mix-and-match?

I am thinking that it's an Eindhoven TTT moved to the Worlds with a few changes to sell it better.

Come to think of it, I don't remember ever seeing the Eindhoven TTT on TV when it was held. Not that I particularly cared.

So basically you think every rider except Sanchez will be dropped? :p

This is a perfect course for Clement actually, he's better on rolling courses than on flat ones. He's really light for a time trialist, somewhere around 65 kgs.

Van Emden and Flens are good TTT engines... if they take them depends on where they want to make their gains: there's still 40 k of (relative) flat where those guys are more useful than Gesink for instance. And they can both be dropped on the Cauberg.

Yeh I was basically saying that :)
It was just strange to watch that video and see the teammanagers conclude that those hills will really hurt and then the interviewer asks what riders they will probably use and then Maassen names riders for pancake flat TT's.

I'm pretty confident about Clement. He can get over a hill quite decent, but not sure what to think of Flens and van Emden. They will struggle to hard on the hills.

Yeah I'm not too keen on this TTT idea. Mostly for the fact that it's trade teams at the Worlds.
Hadn't thought about the ramifications of who will wear the jersey afterwards.

Of course they'll race in their trade kits, seems the most logical thing. It makes just as much sense to do this with trade teams, as with nations, in my opinion. Maybe even more with trade teams, because they actually race more team time trials during the year.

A while ago Erik Dekker posted a logo the winners of the team time trial can wear, I guess patched onto their jerseys, or their team cars.

Can someone explain how this whole thing with commercial team is going to work?

Who is selecting line-up? Do national federation have any say in this?

What are incentives for teams to even compete there?

If for instance RadioShack decides to omit Cancellara does that mean Swiss Federation is screwed?

On flat long itt's on high level Gesink is actually better than Flens and Van Emden.

Flens and Van Emden are better prologue riders, that's a better indication of TTT ability.

But you're right, TT-ing seems to be all that Gesink the cripple can still do ;)
maybe in the past, when gesink was struggling, but in the last TTT's he was the strongest or one of the strongest in the team... I think he's much more use than Flens and Van Emden

I don't, but what does it matter? They're not going to win the TTT either way.

The only world class TTT engine on that team is Boom.

Is the TTT ProTour exclusive?

Are the likes of Cofidis, Caja, etc. automatically excluded from participating?

damn this is exciting! not only do the riders have to be powerful but good on the hills. One of the highlights of the season.

If riders like Cancellara and Martin are already riding the road race and ITT for their countries, will they also ride the TTT.

OPQS will be big favourites for this, they are doing well in TT's for now. Even likes of Vermote, Vandewalle. To me it's between Sky, Garmin & OPQS.

Sure the specialist will ride.
But the problem is, no team has 6 specialist. So will there be enough motivated riders on each team?

Wiggo, EBH, Porte, Froome, Rogers, Thomas/Uran/Siutsou :p

I don't know if they all will race but would be awesome :D
