No love for GVA as a sprinter? I always thought he was designated sprinter in a few races, especially any with a hilly finish?

I think his identification as a sprinter has long outlasted his riding as a sprinter. If anything I'd have him down as an attacking, hilly day race specialist. See MSR, LBL last year. I didn't actually watch Clasica San Sebastian, but maybe he rode that in a similar way?

Roelandts, on the other hand was the Belgian leader for the flat WC, and also leads out for Greipel. There's a case to include him.

The problem being that if GVA is a sprinter then so is Gilbert. Even Cancellara can sprint in the races he targets doing this on pretty decent level but it doesn't make him a sprinter.

I know he's good at classics/cobble just thought it'd be unfair not to list him because he crossovers the disciplines, like Boonen or Freire does. However if people think he's not a sprinter, I'll remove him from the list. Still, I think that if someone's objective for the day is to contest a sprint, and they're not on Vacansoliel or Cofidis, then they must be a sprinter in some regard.

OK, looking at his CQ I can see that he does still get involved in some sprints, like at the Tour of Oman and the Tirreno-Adriatico. Maybe reasonable to include him after all. Still, a lot of people continue to have him down as a sprinter first and foremost, and I don't think that's the case anymore.

What do you thiink about Roelandts?

Even more, he ended up 5th, beating most of the guys listed on the sprinters list in OP...

Yeah, actually Lotto's looking really solid this year, on paper and in practise.

Pim Ligthart? Simone Ponzi and Francesco Gavazzi could maybe be included for Astana too, although they're not really bunch sprinters. Same for Colli.

Jonathan Hivert for Saur.

Matti Breschel from Rabobank. He has won several sprint stages including the last stage in the vuelta and was second at the worlds in Geelong being outsprinted by Hushovd.

Perhaps he is not a "true" sprinter, but he has been sprinting a lot and is the best sprinter in Denmark.

Gasparotto fast? Yes indeed! A sprinter? No way!

I'm not sold on the idea of including Lancaster & Roulston on this list, even though you put a "L" next to them - there's a lot of quality leadouts that are missing on the list if these two should be on it. Maybe G. Thomas should be removed as well.

I would include Sagan (obviously), Selig, Haller, Vicioso (all Katusha), Nizzolo & Gallopin (RadioTrek), Rasmussen (Garmin) and Bazayev & Gavazzi from Astana.

It was sort of the point to include Leadouts but I can understand why you'd be against it.
