Final kms

ng3hhl.png

Technical overview:
Typical Giro flat stage, with its trademark bump in the end. As you can see from the detail, there should be something like 400m at 10% in there, unless the software is entirely wrong (and mind you, it could actually be the case). After the descent, there will be only 4 kms of slightly ascending false flat.

What to expect:
It's not so easy for the sprinters... overall I still think they'll have the upper hand but there is the chance for somebody to attack.

5% per the final Km's profile.

I can see that from the profile, but it covers the less steep part as well as the steep part. I want to know how steep that steep section is.

It's probably not enough to remove sprinters from contention.

50 vertical meters in a little under 500m from what I can see.

If there are some bends at the business end, it may take some momentum out of the bunch, otherwise its a certain mass sprint imo.

Viviani FTW.

Viviani hasn't exactly inspired confidence so far but if it has to end in a sprint I hope its him.
Otherwise someone attacking on that hill and holding it would be great

Viviani struggles with positioning at the best of times, so I think his chances are very limited with that hill so close to the finish.

Bouhanni or Nizzolo ftw (depending on how hard the climb actually is).

Pirazzi to mistake the finish line with a KOM sprint and sprint to the line. Bouhanni to headbutt him out of the way, only for justiciar Ferrari to take out Bouhanni and cause a big crash, which Evans escapes due to good positioning. Nizzolo looking to finally win his first stage, only for Basso to come round him in the last 50m and win the mass sprint finish. :p

Considering not every stage can be GC material, I would say this is a pretty well designed flat stage.

To me it's just a flat stage, but the first part of your statement is true.

Matthews for the win....Orica is on fire right now here and abroad! Might as well keep it up.

Maybe Mezgec for this one. He'll likely get a good leadout from his team since they dont have kittel anymore.

Matthews may be pretty sore after his crash in stage 9.

I would like to see Matthews or Hagen win. Let's go!

Is Swift injured? Otherwise why should Sky work for EBH? This is one of the best stages for Swift.
