Full squad? Pretty much the instant the Mortirolo started it was Landa against Contador. And Landa was holding back because of Aru.

If Contador had done that on the flat it would have been superhuman, but on the Mortirolo it was to be expected.

yup. landa is strong.. and he gets the head start 1+ at the bottom of mortirolo due to AC mechanical... Of course... he is stronges that Alberto (duh)

Landa won the stage coz of Aru's status as team leader..but clearly Contador was the strongest rider...but now we will have a showdown between Contador and Landa in the remaining mountains and it will be Contador sitting on Landa

Not sure that would have been best. He might have won some more time on the Mortirolo, but he would have been alone in the descent and for the final climb, including the pretty flat bits.

By being able to go at 80-90% while Contador was closer to 100% and sitting in the wheel of Kruijswijk after he guaranteed he was fresher than everyone else, getting him a lot of time for little energy.

Much better than the boring Froome vs. Contador MTF battle in the Vuelta. This is a real stage.

Yes, Landa won't gain any more time unless bad luck strikes again for Alberto. I think Alberto did a brave effort today, and without all the extra work, he would definitely have followed Landa.
