Sergio Henao clearly wants to do well. Starting on a TT bike with disc.

They exchanged Sebastian for Sergio? Is that allowed?

:p

Hmm... am I the only one who can't help thinking that some of the guys getting the earlier "best times" are just thinking:
"Someone, please come beat my time so I can get away from here!"

"Hot Seat." Yeah, right!

Duarte setting off now, maybe he can turn in something useful

I doubt he has much left after yesterday and might be keeping himself for tomorrow. However if he is fine and gives it his all he is my best bet for a surprise victory.

Bouhanni's time was 1°19'55", yes?

So in seconds this is 3600+19*60+55=4795
And 4795 / 1.25 = 3836 as the time in seconds which would eliminate him

3836/3600 = 1.0655555
0.0655555 * 60 = 3.93333 (mins)

Therefore the winning time would need to be inside 1°03'56" to eliminate Bouhanni on a 25% cutoff. He should be safe, shouldn't he?

It's how he's had such good legs this third week, they've just been swapping the brothers in and out every other stage =)

I don't reckon he'll have much either, but if he's feeling it he could set a solid benchmark. It's really hard to guess who will give it 100% today and who will just bank a little extra energy for a bigger effort come Zoncolan tomorrow.

Don't know where you got that from. King of the Mountains in the TDF is decided in the same way: on points, not time:

"Points for the best climber classification are awarded at the top of any classified slope."

Mountain 2 - Côte de Réallon (Cat. 2) km. 20.0 Result
1 Joaquim Rodriguez Oliver (Spa) Katusha 5 pts
2 Nairo Alexander Quintana Rojas (Col) Movistar Team 3
3 Christopher Froome (GBr) Sky Procycling 2
4 Alejandro Valverde Belmonte (Spa) Movistar Team 1

Contador had the best time at that intermediate time, but as you can see he didn't get any KOM points.

Yes as the cut off is actually 30%. Otherwise he might not have been as 1:03 is possible.

Last year Evans lost 2:36 in a stage not nearly as hard while climbing better
Wonder how much he loses today

You do know that they're "only" cousins, right?

Anyway... back to the race, and let's assume it's just Sebastian who's been riding.

smuel pokala, jarmo rissanen, tommi maritkainen, they might even be better itt riders than veikkanen but no better riders in general for sure

Finnish weather is not really hospital for cyclingtraining on a proffessional level, but I would be inclined to agreeing on TT since it corresponds to the traditional competitionform of XCskiing in the nordic countries, hence swedish and norwegian TT pros also.
