So, Froome talks crap in the off-season about Alberto and coffee stops, his Cound-dawg yaps about Alberto being a cheat, and now Sky fans complain that Alberto stuck in the dagger?

Really?

I wasn't super happy to watch Alberto wheelsuck, but no way should he have gifted the stage. He has a job to do.

That clown Froome deserves no gifts. Wonderful day of cycling.

Truth is, Contador had no need to do what he did. He backstabbed Chris. He ignored one of the most basic rules: if you don't pull on a climb, and you don't need the stage win, you sure as hell don't attack the one who dragged you the entire climb. Congrats to him, though.

i don't know what the fuzz about the wheelsuck? . Contador is the red. Froome needs to take time from him. Why on earth contador needs to attack just because? Contador doesn't have a stellar form either. So he should do unnecessary attack to blow himself out? That's stupid. It's not like Froome is riding leasurely either. He tried to drop Alberto several times. And Contador just timed his attack to kill him for good. That's a smart ride in my opinion.

I'm not a big fan of Contador wheelsucking and then take the win again, monday it was understandable cause froome was still a danger now not.

There's a TT still, so no. Mechanical? Crash? You take as many seconds as you can. Contador had the right to make Froome work and capitalize. Otherwise Froome would have been wearing the Red Jersey at the start of today's stage.

well deserved glory by bertie. sad to read that his fans have disastrous lack of respect to other riders. thanks to contador, froome, valverde, aru, purito and other riders for the beautiful vuelta. contador and froome are to giants. makes sense to look forward next season

No gifts. Not for Froome.

Contador just too good,he just toyed with Froome and i'm also glad he didn't gift the stage,i hate those gifted stages.Froome was very brave, but it was mission impossible.Le Tour 2015 will be epic if both are coming in top form.

It's understandable because I don't think he's that confident on his leg. In some ways it reminds me of LeMond in 1989.

After Froome made Contador a personal target last year, that stupid Climb book came out and Cound's tweets what should he do? Gift him the win?
Contador did what he should do, no gifts for Froome.
Not beautiful, not legendary, not fantastic. Certainly. But it's totally legit. Lucky us that Contador has been epic many times in the past.

Cound is idiot. 2013 Froome stomped his feet on contador's head. He denied every chance for contador to win. It's a good day today. No one ask Froome to attack in such long km. Contador wears red, he could do anything to do whatever. He has worked his way to red.

It's an important word for Contador fanboys to remember. In fact they should all get personalised pictures of Froome's pair, so they can get the whole Contador experience from home.

Your crying makes it more sweeter indeed. You are a bit emotional now, i get that, but try to grasp basic cycling tactics before all this drama.

Now, celebrate with a cup of coffee.

He raced as I expected and showed who was the King Spaniard. He had to after missing the Tour.

No sport has a bigger bunch of whiny fans than this one. I many times wonder why most of you watch.

Totally agree. Bunch of b!tches crying about Contador not riding a certain way or helping out. STFU, he's leading the race, a position that he earned. He does not need to do anything but protect his lead. Idiots.

To be honest, it looked like AC could have taken 50/50 in turns at the front and still have won. He just wanted to be 110% sure, that he wasn't gonna crack. It's called defense

Gifting a stage win is generally a positive thing, not gifting a stage is NOT a bad thing. This is a race, now if you want to give away a stage out of respect/friendship/whatever kudos, but when people start nagging about someone actually trying to win (and bare in mind, he did not attack a Froome going up at his own pace, he countered Froomes initial attack) that is just childish, and probably only comes from some major fanboys (would have done it myself if Froomey was Vino :D:D)

Did you guys not see Froome going in the red trying to drop Contador with 800 metres to go? What is Contador supposed to do? Stop for a sip of coffee to let Froome win?
