There're now saying Phinney was held up by a stopped moto and car on the course. Hmmmm. Hmmm. Wierd.
yes Taylor was held up and Pinotti gracefully helped by the moto in front of him.. Viva il Giro..

Was Guardini driving the car he sat behind yesterday?

I thought Guardini held on to the team car.
Now thats a total different case.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Didn't Guardini hold on to the car.
He chose to do so dude.

He never hold on to anything, according to him. He just drafted the car in the Tonale descent.

the question was about hype.

So you would be posting that if he was from some other country?
No, you would not. You a proving my my point.

I dont hype him. Just saying he IS NOT a bad TT rider. He's quite decent and has shown it in past...

Not driving it! Holding on to it for too long. Basically being pulled up the road.

I thought they were drafting behind cars for too long. Could be wrong.

well then maybe because it was his team car which let him draft.
So they punished the team by sending Guardini home.
Its not like the motorbike was BMC's bike, it was the race officials bike.
How can they send Pinotti home for that????

I read somewhere (I don't recall where) that at 50km/h drafting a motorbike is beneficial even at twelve (I think...) meters apart. Don't quote me on that, though.

I found it, and I was wrong - it was 48km/h and fifteen meters. :p

Another cyclist covered alone the same 1 km stretch of flat road at 48 km/h, expressing an average power of 410w.
He repeated the performance with a motorcycle 15m ahead of him: the average was 385w, a saving of 6%.
Whenever we see the multitude of photographers motorbikes repeatedly hovering around the leading rider in a race, such considerable advantage is automatically given to him: it is as if they temporarily subjected him to an instantaneous transfusion of 1-2 units of blood...

The rain in Monaco continues to bucket down.

The winner gets a handshake from Prince Albert, and the runner-up a slobering from Princess Charlene.

Rain tracking to Milan.

Yeah you're right, don't worry. Pinotti was helped by that bike because he's Italian, not because he rides for BMC

Of course they can't.

Theu shouldn't have disqualified Guardini in the first place anyway.
