There's a cost to be made when you have WVA in your team. He'll do whatever he can for his leader, but he also needs his own chances sometimes. Or you can see him ride in a different jersey for another team.

Jonas also said they are giving Wout the chance today. Which seems crazy if they are trying to win the Tour and beat Pogacar.

You dont see UAE saying they are riding for an Almeida stage win today. Visma always unable to focus properly.

The hive has always done things this way with Wout. Keep the man happy.

No, that is not the problem (of course smaller teams would make things harder to control). The problem is how many teams with zero ability to win the stage by outpowering other teams/riders, are not going to the break.
I can think of 8-10 teams that should go to the break.

It's one team controlling... one that has already lost a rider. IT's about a lot of teams having the wrong mentality and not about the mount of riders teams have.

I think a lot of teams think stage 6 is their chance for a break cause they think that stage is harder to control and as a result they are just saving energy. And while that's true when only Alpecin really wants to control it would be easy to make this one a breakaway stage too.

But there must be a reason they don't go in the break; like last year Abrahamsen being in nearly every break but Carapaz got Combatif. So not even that could be achieved. I understand they give up. There's nothing to gain. Or hardly anything. So they start to save themselves.

There has to be something more to gain from it. I know people are used to worser teams just making a break for the sake of watchers having something to watch. They're not there for the race but for enjoyment of watchers, but that might not give sponsor money so. It's just a moment 22. Bad if you do bad if you don't kinda situation.
