Yes he had quite a bad crash today. Impressive after his cuts on his legs.

Good on y'a mate, here's to Cadel finally living up to his Grand Tour potential.
To be honest I think he'll struggle and finish 6 (ish) but what do I know?

Funny how everyone is so proud Lance is getting dropped at 38. It took old age for the peloton to catch up and pass. Quite humorous.

There are 40 somethins here with the maturity of pre-pubes so what could you expect?
I don't see anyone racing today that could endure the witchhunts Lance is going through and stay at the top of their game.

If you've won seven tours and are 39, you're not a weak person for quitting once you're out of it.

Yes, yes you are. You are a weak, classless person who didn't live up to your words about this being a team sport where you support the strongest rider. You are a quitter in reality, and don't deserve anything you ever earned. Character is finishing regardless of whether or not you win. We will see if he has that character. I am not saying he won't finish, just that he has to if he wants to show all of his talk about "team" was more than just bullsh!t.

Cuddles can TT pretty well at times. Andy needs real distance from riders like Conti and Cuddles. I also saw Basso there, and don't forget his performance over the course of the Giro.

I know that this is a Clinic topic, but things could be different with little to no "recovery." Look at Basso's blood profile in the Giro. It was what you would expect, and as it went along, people got tired. This Tour could very well let us see what clean racing looks like (for the most part)

I really like to think you're right.

KoM standings, Valls is becoming a contender. The Footon jersey might be helping to motivate his race for dots.

All his talk about 'team' has already been proven as BS in the '09 TDF when he screwed Contador over.

Watch the "crash," Francis. Armstrong did not even attempt to avoid it. He just slowed down and, gently got off, and walked around afterward. He was looking for a way to punk out and took the opportunity what it presented itself.

That was definitive not a tactical decision by Contador to let Schleck go, he simply had nothing left and certainly didnt have the "pushing 460 Watts is like a walk in the park"-look he had last year.
On the other side i don't know if Evans struggled physically or had problems shifting gears, the guys on Eurosport Germany said he seems to have a mechanical problem, he went right at the back of the group behind Rogers very quickly and then was back at the front not much later.

Of course nothing would make you angrier if he quit. You need a couple more weeks lance bashing. If he quit you'd only have a day or two.

I don't know. Trailing up the mountains for no gain isn't great either. It would be nice to see him target a stage win, but given he has won seven tours and is almost 39, I don't think anyone would really begrudge him calling it a day. It's not something a great rider needs to do.

Unless you won't to set him some phoney test.

So are you saying that the team exists solely for his benefit and he owes the rest of the team no assistance in any pursuit of their own interests?

And what about benefiting cancer? Whatever happened to all those poor people who are unaware of cancer or still cling to some ignorant love of cancer?

That's kind of ridiculous, see LeMond 1992-94.

interesting day, hot pace.

think the winners today are schleck, conta (doesn't have yellow but still close), sanchez (the closest he will be getting to the podium), leipheimer (now the #1 guy in shack), kreuzinger (showed he is the strongest).

losers

wiggins, larry, hesjdal, kloden, nico roche.

but only the first day, lots can happen yet, especially with the pyrenees and that TT coming up 3rd week.

if schleck want overall he needs at least 2 mins on conta going into that TT

Hope rides again.

I'm doing it for them.
