Well, that wasn't very good by Bobby G. The fears that he's peaking too early turn out to be unfounded, though. This is about the worst TT he's ever done.

Anyway. Very good performance by Gesink when considered over the whole Tour de Suisse. Was clearly the best in the mountains, and that's what his objective was. Shame he didn't win. but its not bad for his first race back after 2 months.

Shame he can't seem to make any progress in the TTing department. If anything he is regressing. Maybe he's focussed so much on becoming a great climber that he's ignoring the TT aspect of the sport. Either way, the Rabo direction will know 100% for sure now where the effort needs to be made in the future. Here's hoping Bobby can set the mountains ablaze in le Tour

Team radio shack had this to say on twitter

HAMMER TIME: Why all the TT work for Lance this year? Well, let's see what happens tomorrow at #tdsuisse. It'll be a nail biter.

So why all the TT work this year then?

Batteries anyone? LOL :D

Don't forget that a) Armstrong has gone backwards and b) Frank improved over the years. Look at last years AToC TT Results. He was close to Armstrong there. Also, Prologue figures...

Uran might be ahead of marting and possibly gesink but I can't remember his time deficit.

on the climbs he is going awesome. he hasn't developed his time trialling skills. It is sad LA is ahead of him on gc as Bobby G rode a very good race and his ride yesterday may have drained him as he had to work a fair bit.

fränk schleck is beating gesink AND armstrong in a tt after he has been totally outdistanced by gesink in the mountains? that's laughable nothing more, that has nothing to do with cycling any more.

I think Armstrong's problem is that he can't find a good rythm when it goes uphill. I think he only lost time to Martin and Cancellara in the second part, and since the ITT in le tour is entirely flat, I think he won't actually lose a lot of time there...

Now that he got rid of Contador, Lance has gone from being the 4th best TTer on his team to the 3rd best. Impressive, indeed.

I'm not an Armstrong fan or hater, but whatever the math, 2nd in Tour de Suisse is damn good for him at this stage/age. All the other issues aside, which we all know.

He'll take it however the math adds up. Doesn't make me a fan, just an observer.

Morabito had a great race. Nobody expected 4th overall and to climb with the big guns. SStill ahead of your hero. :)

hero failing to wrap the race up in the itt. Sure i've seen that before ;)

This was a typical "excellent tactical race" from the Hog - the team did absolutely nothing, were about as exciting as watching paint dry, but placed 3 riders in the top 10. I take it they were after the all important coveted teams classification, but Saxo must have beaten them. But only 2 Saxo riders in the top 10, so Saxo = WEAK.

He does not have the power on the flat in the tt's like he use to though.

He was 40-50 seconds down at the first time check...

And he was 1:08 back at the finish, which makes he only lost 15 seconds to cancellera in that part and around 25 to martin, and I don't think anyone else besides them were faster, which was the point of not finding rythm uphill ;).

No doubt. Finishing 2nd is very impressive for Armstrong. He's coming into Tour form.

Hmmm, 4x more the climbing and it's harder though only 2x the amount of tt'ing and it is all flat!
