Vladimir Efimkin back to racing

I just noticed while looking at the Tour of Utah startlist (I was really bored at work), where many trainees will be racing, that Vladimir Efimkin will be riding as a trainee with his brother at Team Type 1. I know he doesn't fall under this category but it's because he took this year as sabatical due to his wife's illness.
It's good to see him back.

Is there anyone of these stagiaires that you guys see as world stars? I have only heard of Moser and Agostini, but I don't really follow the U23 scene anyways...

Maybe Daniel Teklehaimanot who was stagiere for Cervelo - Test Team before it folded up. He is a possible Grand tour winner, great climber but also a brilliant time triallist and also punchy for the hilly type terrain. Hopefully he'll get picked up by a team.

It looks a lot like Teklehaimanot will join Europcar in 2012.

Kiwi George Bennett and Aussie Dale Parker moving up to Radioshack in August.

The other interesting thing is that Bennett is not a trackie/sprinter/TT either.

I assume with Stagiaires you mean neo-pros?

Not quite. They are like interns, they get a couple of months with a world tour team and they might be offered a contract for the following year

As a stagiaire you still have the opportunity to participate in, for instance, the U23 Worlds. If you're a pro (at a WorldTour team) you don't.

However, as a stagiaire you're not allowed to participate in Pro Tour races.

Thanks, that's what I guessed, obviously nothing too serious if he's going to line up for the Shack.
Both Bennett and Parker are on the Utah start list, and I would guess they'd do Colorado as well. Bennett could be of use to Levi, definitely.

Demare is a really big talent biggest one the French have had in a very long time I think and one of the favourites to become world champion (and still only 19, last year he finished 5th or 6th while being only a first year).

Some interesting Italian stagiares, Jetse Bol isnt a bad rider and I think Jordy Simon might be a future star.

Evgeni Shalunov on Radioshack, was the interesting one to me.
