You can hardly expect guys like Graeme Brown and Jos van Emden to do well in this kind of stage. They had two riders in the break, Weening and Kruijswijk, but when six riders escaped Weening was forced to do all the work. He managed to reduce the gap on the finishing climb, but obviously not enough.

Rabo had to do the work on two fronts, and well, apparently they couldn't. Would have been a different story if Boom and Langeveld were in the break, but such a break would never have happened.

It's not fantastic, but it's forgivable, I guess.
