I agree with c&cfan.
To me Jobs may not be Gandhi, but he changed the world for the better, and without stomping on the backs of many people in the process. Why some people can't separate good guys like Jobs (or Bill Gates for that matter) from bad guys like Kenneth Lay or Bernie Madoff is beyond me.
i may be young but i am not a kid. there is a select group of people that i learned to admire and unlike 99,9% of 20year old men\girls, that group of people isn't made from football\baseball\basketball\hockey players and pop singers (even if i consider michael jackson a deserved superstar).
in the recent past i informed myself about his life, what he (Steve Jobs) accomplished, his ideals, etc. i can't help it. I have to admire him. I have to look at his talent and vision and see in him how i want to be like. he is what i call a hardcore genius--no hypocrisy, no illusion. You have a goal and you go for it.
there's no computer better built and efficient than the whole mac line, no phone better than the iphone, no tablet better than the ipad, no music device better than the ipod.
some may argue that apple devices are overpriced, for those i say:
-look at what Mr Jobs did. Mac airs\ipads are the biggest example. there's no competitor able to produce a computer\tablet similar to that with the same price. they can't compete with apple's price. result? competitors will provide a computer\tablet with much lower quality hardware or much lower quality construction materials. even if the specs are the same or for some miracle better, the computer\tablet performance will be slower because you can't beat OSX\apple hardware combo.
the same can now be applied to all mac computers and iOS devices.
it's the same to compare a great car with an enzo\carrera gt\mclaren f1. for example the viper has an 8200cc engine, but an enzo...well..you know.
microsoft can't provide the same quality since it has to provide windows even to low-end computers and android is a big joke. i have one android BTW(i am portugues and my parents earn 450 each per month. iphone4 16gb costs 600).
if you look at this that i wrote you have to respect steve. if you look at how he started, what he endure and how he accomplished it, you have to admire him.
it gets even better when you read this:
"i don't know why he (steve) even tries. he knows he can't win". gates, 98. today apple is worth more than microsoft and intel combined.
"if i could, i would buy the stocks and end the company to give the shareholders some money". michael dell, 97. today apple has more money than the US government. how's that?
