Etap Hotels and dining in restaurants with these crazy soups, disgusting meat and over-cooked "pasta" with watery sauce are almost unbearable. Add water from the main and questionable hygiene and there you have it.

Conditions and food in GER, SUI, NED and even BEL are way better (cannot comment on other countries as I didn't race there, Italy should be good food wise from what I hear though).

I believe Lizzie is 100% clean - primarily because women get paid a pittance. Brad earnt enough this year to support an entire women's team without impacting his improved lifestyle.

"Lizzie Armitstead has withdrawn from the UCI Road World Championships on Saturday due to illness. The team have decided not to call in a reserve rider at this stage," explained a short GB Cycling press release.

The cause of Armiststead's illness is not known.

Liz is the only female GB rider to talk out about the unfairness evident in UCI, Sky and British Cycling when it comes to inequality in women's cycling.

Really disappointed at such an anti climax, I worked hard to be in contention for the rainbow but will have to leave it to GB girls and 2013

ETA: her team AA-drink leontien is folding at the end of this year as the sponsors pull out. No idea if she has a gig for next year. Pooley is talking about taking a sabbatical.
