3 pages and no one crying BANESTO?? i mean early 90s banesto was incredible. 5 tours, 2 giri...still today Unzue is on of the best DS.
the way banesto riders dedicated evrything to their captain was new in cycling. banesto was the draft for ater USPS successes
Yeah, I'm sure Prudencio Indurain was taken to the Giro and the Tour because he was one of the best domestiques around and not just because he happened to be Big Mig's brother.
another guy who didn't follow cycling 1994-1999.

once in 1995 were frightening: jalabert, zülle, mauri, bruyneel, breukink, stephens, mariano rojas, herminio diaz zabala, luis diaz otazu.

only luis diaz otazu was terrible and already out of time after the ttt, imagine if they had selection oliverio rincon instead of him...
To elaborate: Oliverio Rincón had to be dropped from the team at the last minute (he had an abscess, I think?), so they gave Díaz de Otazu a call because he was the only other fit rider who could make it in time. He was mere filler and a very mediocre rider, but he didn't have the Tour in his schedule so his form wasn't good, which probably didn't help.

With Henao back and Landa available and with Froome, Thomas & Poels ...not to mention a very strong climbing Nieve ...I have to say I am getting a bit carried away with how strong SKY are...Maybe too strong...And we haven't even included Kiryenkia, Inxtausti , Roche, Rowe, Konig,Puccio & Stannard

Of course everyone would need to turn up in top form...not sure who they will select
movistar with: quintana, valverde, anacona, castroviejo, gorka izagirre, ion izzagire, daniel moreno, erviti and jesus herrada imo will be stronger

No way ...for one thing SKY are better climbers (except for Quintana) and Valverde has one tour in their legs
And Sky individually are far better riders

Just for instance
Landa is better than Valvede , Henao is better than Anacona, Poels in better Ion izzagire, Thomas is better than moreno ,Nieve is better Gorka Izzagire , Kiryenka is better than Herrada, Kwait is better than erviti

I think its wishful thinking on your part

Having said that SKY will need to have at least one other rider high up in the GC to win the Tour imo...Because Quintana is the better climber and Contador is also very good...So SKY will need to use the one two (or even 3) to win the Tour imo

Nowadays he drives the Orica bus.

they might be better on paper individually but no way as a team.

Sky have a single unified goal, and probably stronger riders (as admitted by you). They also have almost unparalleled success in targeting the tour. Other than in 2010 their GC rider has won, when they have finished, for the last 5 years.

You might not like their riders or their tactics but credit where its due.

I'm not sure if you are joking or not? I mentioned those in my post, their GC rider crashed out, hence they didn't win.
How many teams have won a GC when their number 1 GC rider has crashed out?
I accept this is a limitation of putting all your eggs in one basket, though if it had happened in 2012 they would have been fine.

that sky win, unless their GC man crashes, every year since 2010.
