Wellens should definitely start.
Only an illness or something bad would make UAE remove him from this race.

Nevermind, it was a fake post by Tim Cahill over in the RVV race thread. Well he got me, I guess.Where did you see? Don't tell me PCS please.
Of course Wellens will be there.Nevermind, it was a fake post by Tim Cahill over in the RVV race thread. Well he got me, I guess.
Like you said, unless he's ill I can't imagine him not being there.Of course Wellens will be there.
For me, the best strategy is to repeat 2023.
In 2023, UAE worked hard, and Pogacar attacked with 55 km to go.
Matteo Trentin was in the breakaway, and he played a crucial role in setting a strong pace after Pog and VDP caught the breakaway riders. Then, with 18 km to go, Pog attacked again, and VDP didn’t respond.
So, I think UAE should use the same tactic: send Vermeersch in the breakaway.
They should push the race hard for about 40 km until the second climb of Oude Kwaremont. At that point, Pog needs to launch a devastating attack to force the first selection.
Vermeersch, in the breakaway, when Pog and VDP (along with any other riders who survive the first attack) catch him, should set a time trial pace all the way to the third passage of Oude Kwaremont.
Then, Pog has to go all in, attack with everything he has, and time trial to the finish. This is the best strategy to drop VDP.

Interesting, where would I find this talk from "media" and "MvdP" towards Pogacar? Is this a Twitter thing? I don't go there so might be missing the drama. If anybody thinks pog is gonna go the last time kwaremont i think they're making fool of themselves. He wants vdp & the media to bow down and apologize for what they've been talking about all week. 56km solo for sure & we will see if vdp has the balls to follow or wheel sucks behind the group like in 2023

I know, I know. I was not being genuine, just found it a little funny.[deleted content]
Pogacar himself doesn't feel like this. He respects his colleagues.
Pogacar will also definitely try to drop MVDP on the Koppenberg. It's possible (and even likely IMO) that Pog launches a big attack on the penultimate Kwaremont (54 km to go) and either tries going solo or forms a 2-men group with MVP all the way to the next Kwaremont (or to the finish, in pessimistic case for him).
He will use his teammates, at least until the second Kwaremont. Then he will completely destroy the race. The way Pog has been racing recently makes me think he's way beyond even thinking his teammates will be useful in the final 80km or so.
Besides is that what people even want to see? Nah, just go balls to the wall and mano-à-mano with VdP.
I didn't see anything in the media. MVP is a good friend of Pogacar in the peloton despite being rivals.Interesting, where would I find this talk from "media" and "MvdP" towards Pogacar? Is this a Twitter thing? I don't go there so might be missing the drama.
I agree that MVP has no chance of dropping Pogacar but I believe it is not a sure deal Pogacar will drop MVP. I believe he will but I'm not 100% sure.View: https://youtu.be/CMxpFyudnd8?si=JaYrdaD4J9XbBIly

On the 1st vid well the title speaks for itself
And for the 2nd one tejay vangardren says tadej pogacar can be able to hold vanderpoels wheel in flanders but he will lose it anyway on the sprint i mean wth😳🤣. Vdp at the moment in in ooze confidence from what he did in cicaban
As I thought, what an incredible team.
