I feel like this is mainly due to recency bias because MVDP looked dominant in E3 while we haven't seen Pogi since MSR, where he was unable to drop MVDP. RVV and MSR are very incomparable though. Pogi has way more chances to drop MVDP in this race. It's not a certainty he'll drop him but he has a good chance of doing so. I honestly give it 55/45 or 60/40 in favor of Pogi.

Ha, he actually said social media is the cancer of our times.
I gotta say, I'm not used to him actually having a strong opinion on something. I always feel that pr-wise, he tends to take the easy way, not trying to rub anyone the wrong way (which in itself is completely understandeable, because.. social media)
But he scored some major personality points in my book by saying just that. Chapeau!
Welcome to the dark side of the force haha

2 days for the second best day of cycling in the season. Last year, this time of the year was terrible but things are going differently this year. I hope for no crashes and let the best win!
Wind looks good. 20 kph from East and weather is sunny with temperatures between 8°-13°.

Anyone watching cycling—doesn’t matter how great MvdP is, because he is one of the greatest in his terrain—everyone should know what will happen after watching the comical level of Pogacar last year.

If not, no wonder a few handful people set themselves up to get surprised by external feelings. It’s really obvious what will happen when these guys roll into Oude Kwaremont.

Yup, he has great character and attitude. Leader and a real champion.

Which day is the best in your opinion? PR? IMO this Sunday could be the duel of the season (but maybe the Tour will match it).

Yeah , there are people on forum who are claiming it is 50/50 or 60/40 duel. They have no idea whats going to happen..

I agree on the recency bias. However I also think Tadej should've raced E3. He has the well deserved advantage of being the wc and having god status in the peleton so positioning will be easier but I can still see him be out of position a couple of times. See the Cipressa for instance where he is always a bit too far back. I believe this is the first time he will race Flanders without racing E3 or Dwars beforehand, bit of a strange decision in my opinion.

RVV 2023 was the race of the season so I believe we can have a similar race this year, but for me nothing beats PR. I will never forget seeing Museeuw winning full of mud and how many riders almost collapsed there (Hincapie for example)! For me PR shows what cycling is all about. Suffering, Pain, Hardness and the ultimate Glory!
What a bless it is for me to watch this gift from gods.

If PR turns out to be one-sided it won't be the race of the season, let's see how Pog fares there vs MVP and other big boys. I think Flandres is the best in terms of MVP-Pogacar dynamics.

Don't worry, I have serious doubts about MVP being able to drop Pogacar.

We will see. MVP has awesome power (not just long-lasting one but also 1-minute peak) plus great technique so he may be able to drop Pogacar. Time will tell. I don't have a clear idea how it will unfold. My rough estimate now is position 3-5 for Pogacar (may lose the podium in a sprint).

Draft is what will make impossible to MVP in dropping Pogi

It's not only about draft. MVP can gain a few meters just by riding a technical corner faster plus a few more meters due to a stronger acceleration. Then suddenly draft becomes less important.

We are yet to see how Pogacar fares in PR: being in top5 is one thing but competing against MVP is another. The Dutch should be favoured there until proven otherwise.

Watch MVDP's decisive attack from last year's Roubaix. Even if Pogacar has the power and skill to match in that moment, if he's on the wrong wheel and gets caught on the wrong side of a gap, no guarantee he can close it.
