It's not only about draft. MVP can gain a few meters just by riding a technical corner faster plus a few more meters due to a stronger acceleration. Then suddenly draft becomes less important.

We are yet to see how Pogacar fares in PR: being in top5 is one thing but competing against MVP is another. The Dutch should be favoured there until proven otherwise.
We will see.

The order was Politt-Wellens-Vermeersch-Pogi hammer
Yup. I thought Narvaez would be the last man of Pogacar.
On the other hand, seeing Vermeersch doing this only reinforce how strong it is and how great as a asset, he is. Best domestique Pogacar will have in both RVV and specially PR! We must not forget he was the man who (alone) destroyed in pieces the peloton in SB and almost took 2/3 minutes to the breakaway.

Tbh i hope vdp doesn't get this video before the race b/c if he gets it now i fear he is gonna disappoint the legends and the media by wheel sucking behind vanaert like he did in 2023

They don’t care, they know this has nothing to do with actually racing.
That would be rather poor if they didn’t take any notice as if a rival gives you any insight into their preparation then it is perfectly logical to study it for some ideas for the next races.

Only guessing but maybe they like him to try and be in the anticipatory moves in the early part of the hill zone to be linked up with after Pogi makes his biggest move.
It can be a strategy but I don't think Alpecin will simply let Narvaez go away. Maybe it is because he was sick and they expect Morgado and him to work earlier in the hilly part of the race.

No chance for uae if they are to be part of the anticipation move coz nobody is helping them to control the whole race even alpecine after watching todays video. Its not like in 2023 where you could send trentin & hope for cooperation for chase in the peleton. Bjergs role will end on 1st Kwaremont(140kms to finish) b/c he will be the one controlling the breakaway in the 1st 120 kms. Then morgado & polit are left to control from 140kms and if a big group goes away 110 kms to go who is gonna bring it back for uae? and who can position the team for 2nd kwaremont? I think they are going to make the race as hard as possible from 1st kwaremont till 2nd kwaremont by keeping the whole team together like in strade bianche

So why was Politt leading out Pogacar today? He will not be there if he is going to work right after the first Kwaremont.

I think having any combination of 3 or more teammates with Pogacar at a decisive moment in the race is optimistic.

The team is ridiculously strong, the weakest links might actually be Politt who was 3rd and Morgado who was 5th last year, while 4th place might do the donkey work. I‘d guess Bjerg will do the work if Alpecin doesn‘t do the stupid thing and burn all their riders instead. Politt would probably be the option to do positioning and 2nd Chase engine during the early hills, while Morgado and Narváez may mark attacking moves. Morgado could also be working with Politt because he‘s not really shown up in position to follow moves so far this season. Then I guess it‘s up to Wellens and Vermeersch to do a leadout to the 2nd Kwaremont and then it‘s up to Pogi.

Bit sad to see three of last year‘s Top five in position to be burned off early, but what are you gonna do…

I already watched the "He will destroy everyone on the Kwaremont" two years ago. I demand a different ending this year.
