Pog knows he has the best engine so it's just a matter of time before the other drops. That gives him confidence. If the race was 220k, it would be another story. But in the long and hard races like RVV, he is just superior.

PR will not be as easy because there are no climbs, but his engine, skill on the cobbles, and a strong team, will make sure he will be there in the end battling for a win. I have no dobut about that.

The talk will rather be about his crash. I have no idea if or how bad it affected him, but a crash is always a valid point to mention when looking back at the race where the crash happened.

What was Pogacars time on the last Kwaremont?
It is but I think he didn't crash (looking to his sharpness later in the race and his clothes) hard. However, he burned some energy to comeback so that is valid excuse.

MVP shoulder blades were sunken while looking for wheels. I had not seen him like that since his struggles with back issues

Destroyed him to be honest. Without others, he would lose more 30 seconds. He was completely cooked!
He looked great first time on Paterberg. But I sensed a turn on Koppenberg and then Taaienberg, after that I was sure he was going to get dropped. And this is what Pog was betting on, attack and attack to wear the opponents down. That's one of Pog's unique abilities. We saw same in Strade, Pidcock could follow the first attack, but the next attack later in the race Pidcock didn't have a chance.

I think he only really attacked on the second Kwaremont.

Then he just rode every berg really hard until the last Kwaremont where he delivered the final stab.

It was methodically done and really impressive.

According to the screen pogi ascended the kwarwont faster the first time and progressively slower thereafter. A testament to how hard the race is rode and recipe of attrition to win. Pogi won this the same way in 2023. Just hammering climb after climb.

MVP looked great on the pater berg though. I was nearly convinced bruyneel was correct and he would tail pogi to the finish

One amazing thing with Pog is just how quickly he recovers from a hard effort. You could see he was quite laboured at the end on Kwaremont last time. But 1-2 minutes afterwards he started pushing hard again and the time gap immediately went out. The others were just too tired to start closing in on Pog. Just incredible.

As Sola says, "genetics" is the most important thing in High Performance.

Yup. I don't remember who (in UAE) said "his legs never hurt" refering to Pogacar but it is very accurate when we see a classic like this where he goes like a mad man every single cobbled climb.
I didnt really get mad man here. That was more accurate for MSR.

Here he looked more composed and just rode them really hard. He had more time and climbs to work with here.
