Hopefully the break formation will take 50+km to snap the elastic and the often underrated rolling terrain in that part will already play a part in the wearing down process and knocking the first few percent off the energy meter.

A super hard race will make the chance of even a 3-5 seconds separation sticking much greater if the superpower acceleration 20 second efforts of MVDP have been dulled by the relentless threshold efforts as in RVV.

also, as I actually already knew from january the new bike is totally useless, if they can't even use it in the most flat classic. At this point, as I said already in january, msr is gonna be the only relevant race in which pog uses this bike. I really hope colnago will come out with the v5rs in the next weeks and it provides a meaningful upgrade, because v4rs continues to be one of the slowest (and heaviest) bikes among the top brands

Bruyneel says MVP to win (again) this weekend. Cites MVP was sick last weekend and crashed.

Of course
I don't understand the Pog v Mvdp moaning around here.

MVDP was always going to struggle with the elevation of RVV vs Pog, but because they aren't long climbs it's a close battle and either could conceivably win - unlike when either one of them is missing and it's a snooze fest. To pretend an illness and a crash had no impact is just denial, but Pog is still favored at RVV I think.

Choosing Mvdp in PR is a no brainer since it's flat and Pog is not a great sprinter, and of course it's his first time. Why is that choice surprising, Mvdp has more paths to victory here.

Pogacar still has a chance and for sure will make the race better. Can't we just enjoy great racing!

Being PR it's very possible neither of them wins.

I mean from that photo it seems pretty obvious, I doubt it we'll know it tomorrow because they won't ride (probably just few kms) and it's unlikely they say he crashed. But if you want read this article. The team ds obviously did not mention any crash but the article does say pog arrived 15 min after his teammates.

It says some teammates arrived 15 minutes before the Pogacar group. I think it is just as fair to suggest those riders took a more direct route to the bus at the end and did not ride every sector.
