Peak Gilbert used to tell reporters the exact spot he was going to attack at and still was unstoppable."I don't post on Strava because when I fight a man for real, I don't want him to know what I can do. "
Philippe Gilbert
Wasn't that only San Sebastian?Peak Gilbert used to tell reporters the exact spot he was going to attack at and still was unstoppable.
He didn't need to for Amstel, that's for sure. Everybody knew where he was going to attack.Wasn't that only San Sebastian?
How much faster than the old Strava record is that?Meanwhile on the Poggio

5" faster than the Jalabert / Fondriest record, I think. How much faster than the old Strava record is that?
How sure are we the Strava segment is correct?5" faster than the Jalabert / Fondriest record, I think.
I'd say fairly sure. How sure are we the Strava segment is correct?
Makes sense.I'd say fairly sure.
Everybody knows where the Poggio starts and ends. I'd need to see the map to be 100% sure though.
How sure are we that Pog is going to bludgeon the opposition on the Poggio? Who's going to stay with him? Ala is out and we needed a fully in-form Ala for this debacle. How sure are we the Strava segment is correct?
I'd say WVA and Pidcock have a chance. How sure are we that Pog is going to bludgeon the opposition on the Poggio? Who's going to stay with him? Ala is out and we needed a fully in-form Ala for this debacle.
I will offer up: there seems to be a slowly circling shark. Sagan may shock all of us and he's great at working off of other teams. How sure are we that Pog is going to bludgeon the opposition on the Poggio? Who's going to stay with him? Ala is out and we needed a fully in-form Ala for this debacle.
He is my bet to win the sprint for 7th placeI will offer up: there seems to be a slowly circling shark. Sagan may shock all of us and he's great at working off of other teams.
WvA maybe...but not Pidcock. Pidcock's form has fallen way off since winning the CX World Championship. The same thing happened to him after winning the MTB XC Olympic Gold medal last year. He has the potential for a big peak but he isn't able to hold it for long.I'd say WVA and Pidcock have a chance.

however, they did it after 300kms...LOL! And neither of them were ever close to Pog's league. gives you a sense of how effed up those days were... ;-)
