Alaphilippe honestly seems way off for MSR.

Sanremo is hard because nobody is not gonna react to his attack there plus in a typical MSR leading group I dont see Pog having the best sprint.

Vlaanderen is similar, hes kinda outgunned in the sprinting department there and would thus need to get away somehow. Van Aert and VdP are focus hard on that race.

Pog could attack over Poggio and if he is alone he could ride a fast descent. TT to the line. Depending on how fast they can regroup and organise a chase, he might hold on.

He won LBL in a sprint from a reduced group. That is a possibility here as well as if they are just a couple of riders. Sprinters might not even make it. It wont be a lead-out type of sprint.

VdP lost Flanders against Asgreen last year in a sprint. Strongest man wins in a sprint after hard race. It is always a case to case situation.

It is not like Pog is a slouch either.

Maybe Roglic will end up as Pog's biggest career rival and after him nobody will challenge Pog...
Nobody should underestimate Roglic. He rides with the same competitive spirit and has proven to be stronger, too. Tadej has stayed very free of nicks and dings which helps and the group of riders he has just currently humbled are good. Not quite as good as who Roglic has been tormenting but we have a few months to let this boil up. My hope is they both stay very healthy and some of the other young contenders break up the UAE and Jumbo domination in the Tour, in particular.

Congrats to Pogacar on defending his Tirreno title. He did it in commanding fashion, similarly to last year. His offensive mindset this week was off the charts - attacks in the mountains, on hills, fighting for bonus seconds and even taking part in breakaways! He's unbeaten (3/3) in races in 2022 plus 4 stages won. What an incredible start of the season, judging by his performances in Strade and yesterday he already seems to be at his spring peak. How long can he maintain it? He probablhy won't take part in any stage races until June so he should be able to sustain it a few more weeks (for classics), rest and build towards an even more monstrous peak of July.
