Big mistake. They no longer can use Matteo.I think Visma will wait til after the Stage 13 TT results before they allow Jonas to seriously attack.

Don't forget, he is the only one who knows his numbersHe sounds very confident. But would be silly to underestimate a fresh and uninjured Vingegaard this year. Hautacam followed by the Peyragudes MTT could be decisive. Visma have some teammate cards to play with Matteo. Finally the exciting time of the Tour is almost here.
There is any chance he attacks the last hill today? With a good leadout from Narvaez, I don't know.
Look to stage 4. But I think you are right, I just wanted to see a thrilling stage and not a procession because tomorrow we have the first real test. Why bother? Burn your team and then yourself doing 8 km time trial for what? Stage win?
I think they are aware of 3 days that follow and will play it safe.

He can nuke the last hill and drop Vingegaard. Then it would be a mano a mano until the finish line.Stage 4 was different. His team was fresh and still full and why not test the legs of competitors. Finish of the stage was also more suited for high reward low risk attack on penultimate climb.
You are right. I just don't want an active rest day today.Without Almeida and with Sivakov sick, there's no point in tiring the team today.
He needs to be attentive with Politt and see what the Visma team does. Nothing more.
Vinge can wait for peloton and they can wheel him in. Lots of risk and energy lost for improbable little gain. I am sure Pog of old would try it but I think he learned the lesson in 2022.He can nuke the last hill and drop Vingegaard. Then it would be a mano a mano until the finish line.
I think he will not attack but no way he would wait for the peloton. Probably 5 riders would be under 15 seconds, not 40 riders.Vinge can wait for peloton and they can wheel him in. Can't believe UAE will chase so bonus seconds will probably go to the break and then you can question if it's worth it. Of course, if for example Alpecin misses the break they will probably chase, then I can see Pog attack after a strong leadout. If he gets distance to Vinge he will make it to the finish, a chase will not get organized in time and will probably be too far back (Pog probably distances Remco with 10-12 seconds on the climb). There is any chance he attacks the last hill today? His only domestique able to be somewhat close (under 15") is Matteo. Vingegaard would not wait for him after the climb because he would be 6 or 7 seconds ahead. If some of those riders are TJV domestiques he would be in danger of beeing wheeled in or win with minimal advantage. Anyway, waste of energy in my books. I think today will be about breakaway and maybe some sprinters teams trying to control.

This climb is harder than Saint Hilaire. We are talking 0,8 km at 12 degrees. I am not even sure he can drop Vinge at such a short climb. But anyway. I stick to my opinion that it does not make any sense at all.
The point is not to drop him but to force him to go so hard that he is close to puking after the stage. Soften him up before Hautacam. Like stage 4.We are talking 0,8 km at 12 degrees. And this wall is harder. A sharp turn and with a fantastic leadout from Narvaez, Vingegaard will suffer. The point is not to drop him but to force him to go so hard that he is close to puking after the stage. Soften him up before Hautacam. Like stage 4.
That obviously can't be right. I burn nearly as much just watching the race on my couch. Those numbers would be impressive on an e-bike. Not possible on a normal bike. Something must not have been calibrated right.3 week WT grand tours are all about micro management, minimal gains, losses, collectively. Pogacar is using far less energy for very similar results to other riders..and this year his calorie conservation looks much more conspicuous, concentrated.
Video is not brand new, data still similar.

They could never use him a la Roglic like in 2022, if Jonas or Pogacar attacks, he wont be able to hold wheels. He will be used to tire UAE out and that is about it.Big mistake. They no longer can use Matteo.
Tour is over.Stage 11 is his nightmare.
