The Astana DS said the battle started when they stopped to pee.

Many riders were left behind as a result and had to fight back in many parts of the peloton. But it all started when they stopped to pee.

The thing for me is that changes the approach towards the Pog crash because its like yeah they all know using a pee break is bad form, happens all the time in the women's peloton btw, but then there's like a chance to show how sporting they are and they take it and the pee break thing got mostly ignored and so they feel karma is restored.

Had they attacked at the crash, combined with the pee break thing, alot more on the way they were riding to beat Pog would have been said. Imo at least.

You're supposed to wait if the crash isn't self inflicted. They shouldn't get any praise for it.
You are but its happened before in men & women's races and lots of people spend alot of time trying to justify it's ok not to stop or even attack.

It's not for me, and I'd far rather it wasn't praise worthy detail, just something riders naturally did, but its the world we live in unfortunately

What the hell? He is climbing with a bike 800g heavier just for marketing?
Yes.

This bike is very "peculiar". It was released last year, but you don't see reviews of people that bought the bike. I've even seen coments from bike shop owners saying that they put an order for several of these to Colnago, but they never receive the bikes, because it's always delaid for some reason. On the other hand, the V5RS is always available to order.

My guess is that the bike sucks. This is also why you didn't see UAE ride the bike during the year that much.

Vingegaard looks to be using the S5
the S5 is a monster of a bike, it's one of the best aero bikes (the new one is probably the best aero bike in the peloton) but it's also super light, the new version is around 7 kg, (the one that vingegaard uses, there's an article and video on bike radar), so just 200 g above the weight limit. It's the fastest bike in any kind of stage. From all the independent reviews I've read you can't say the same about the Y1rs. It weighs 7.5 kg, I also read about lack of rigidity compared to top bikes and more importantly I always have the impression that pog's pedalling on that bike is not as smooth and comfortable as on the V5rs

Vingegaard's S5 was measured at 6.95kg with pedals, bottle cages and garmin mount by the German Tour magazin recently, a proper weight weenie built for an aerobike. Put on a bit shallower wheels and it's right at the weight limit.

exactly what i was saying, vingegaard is riding on the most aero bike of the peloton, but it still is close to the weight limit, the y1rs is not the same thing

I guess for the mountain stages they go full Pogacar special on the YR1S. The SRM/Cybrei crankset that is 150-200g lighter, every alu bolt gets replaced with a titanium bolts and so on. But the Colnago aero bike apparently has meh compliance + bad lateral and BB-area stiffness (that's why nobody raced it on the cobbles) so they have another problem. A heavier bike that is less stiff and less comfortable, that is indeed not very attractive.

I really can't understand why he's using it today, yes all the reviews mention also the problem with comfort and lack of stiffness. The v5rs is just much more proven on a climbing stage
