Mate this sport is littered with such examples.

But now suddenly winning 8 stages in a Grand Tour is normal?
This is a weird take. But you’re hurting man, and I have a lot of empathy for you. I’m always here for you if you want to talk.

I can only say I’m glad Michael Jordan didn’t let others win a little bit (at least while he could. And didn’t fiddle with baseball)

MJ went to finals 6 times and won all 6.

I am utterly unaffected by today. In fact, Rogla's great time trial make me feel quite optimistic, and Vingegaard catching Evenepoel gave me a good laugh.

Okay, thanks. So for an example last year, if Pog had not chased own Jogenson at Isola that would be better. But this would not apply to today's MTT.
Yeah, it's not about today. And for 2024, it was mostly about the final mountain stage on Couiolle where Pogacar said beforehand the breakaway could go but then they kept the gap somewhat close and he eventually won the stage.

I really like Pogacar and was massively rooting for him in 2022 and 2023 but man, I just want to see some cracks in his armor again. Froome in 2013 was boring but in his most dominant GT victory he still lost time in the cross winds and was dropped on 2 of the final 3 mountain stages. Pogacar in 2021 was at least dropped once by Vingegaard even though it didn't result in a time loss. Right now the dominance is just unbearable.

can POGI beat Eddy merckx by winning all the shirts , and more then 7 stages - i think it is very doable now...

Green is almost impossible. Intermediate sprints on the remaining mountain stages are all early in the stage prior to the first climb. Easy to reach for Milan. Even if Pog wins all remaining mountain stages Milan can match the points.
Maybe with a brutal pace in the Alps. Milan finishing OTL on stage 18 or 19. Or a stage win in Paris but that is going to be really difficult.

I'm a big MJ fan but this has always seemed like one of the dumbest stats people throw out to justify his superiority. Another way to say this stat is: 11 times Michael Jordan failed to make the Finals 11 times; or, he won the Championship 6/13 seasons. 6/6 is a dumb distortion of his record, IMO. That's like saying, Alberto Contador was on the podium 9 times and won all 9.

I agree but at the end of a day its between MJ and Bron. MJ never lose in finals while Bron did that 6 times.MJ never had a series like LBJ against Mavs in 2011.

On the topic of Pog being greedy: I feel he's completely in his right to win anything he can, like any pro-athlete. But you can't blame other teams either for becoming disgruntled at some point and do whatever they can to throw a spoke in the wheel. (Figuratively!)

On the other hand, a lot of the teams haven't really shown any interest in organising a serious break either. Yeah, I'm looking at you Intermarché, Arkea and Cofidis. What the hell are you even doing here?

You are right but it's the same thing all over again. When will he win the Vuelta? Next year, Tour+WC+GdL is possible again. In 2027 the same. In 2028, he will race to win both the Tour and Olympics. Is he waiting for 2029 to win the Vuelta? Awful decision if he wants to win every GT
Funny to think there will be come a time, maybe sooner than expected, when old Pog will struggle to win a puny Vuelta. It's an obvious fact of life and sport, but it feels almost sacrilegious to entertain that thought now.
